That seems to be the biggest obstacle at the moment in American politics. It's a very sad thing to see from north of the border, but it seems that both sides are more intent on making the other side look bad than they are at making conciliatory gestures to move things forward. It's too bad really.
Conrad, I agree completely with this post, term limits across the board is one huge solution to our problems as a nation. I do not like the animosity in today's politcal scene!
Conrad I agree but think the way the laws are written now if lets say a Senator has a limit of two terms at the end of his (her) second term they received a package to rival the best CEO in the Country. That would involve Congress to change the law as it is written now and you know that won't happen
Good morning Conrad,
Term limits AND those voted into office are not allowed to vote for their own salary and pension packages. They should be in step with the same packages they vote for the American Public...Social Security, Medicare and Insurance...no lifelong pensions.
So true, Conrad. This applies not only to politics, but any environment where two may disagree about a decision. We've become so venomous about people who disagree with us; we attribute everything evil to the opposing side.
