Standing Your Ground Or Buckle Like A Folding Chair?

By

A serious question folks. Do you stand your ground when it comes to value and commission or do you fold?

In other words, how much is that listing worth? Is it worth a few months on the market knowing the sellers might do a price reduction? Is it worth wasting your advertising dollars when the numbers don't reflect the sellers opinion of value? I don't think it is.

Over the course of many years I've had the privilege (as we all have) of sitting down with a wide variety of sellers. From more affluent and well educated to the average Joe with an average home. All of these folks regardless of where they come from or where they're going have one thing in common. They all think their home is the most valuable. All kidding aside. Why list a home you know is over priced. Why list a home if the sellers are expecting you to give your services away? Is it worth compromising your professional integrity?

Many homes languish on the market because folks have unreasonable expectations and agents aren't willing to walk away. Stand your ground. Back up your opinions with accurate market data and help sellers understand the numbers. If necessary....Walk away.
