22 Comments on How Can Your Wife Stand Being with You That Much? Spousal Realtor Teams.
From the title of this post, I can only surmise that you get this question A LOT! You did the most wonderful job of explaining how you work as a team and it's obvious how much you two respect each other which, essentially, is the only thing that counts in a marriage.
Looks like a great working model.. as long as the right people are involved such in your case. .
Sounds like you two have a great system and divide and conquer your business responsibilities very well. Trust and respect are the key ingredients for a successful team...you have those, so run with it!
Good morning, Steve....that was a great presentation of your team....team members should never do the same work....and you have that down to a science.....great job....
It sounds to me like you two have figured out the recipe for success as a married team. Congratulations to you both. This post gets the "Feel Good Award" of the day!
Good Morning Steve, sounds like you and Jan have got it going on! Congratulations on your success and team work together.
Hmmm...I think we have been married 33 years. I fell in love when she baited her own hook when we went fishing. She also thinks I am incredibly funny...hard not to like a woman like that.
This also brings to mind that I need a new real estate photo to show off my luxuious gray hair.
Steve, we tried this, it lasted 3 months. My wife could not stand the stress and thought she should be involved in every detail
Glad to see you make it work out.
This post hits home with us. My wife Kim & I are a real estate team and married couple too. And the description of the roles each of you play is as if you are describing our roles. If you lived closer I'd say let's go to dinner!
You've convinced me. I think know I need a good wife Jan. This sounds wonderful Steve. True Yin and Yang. Good for you.
Steve you two have your business and relationship humming along perfectly. Sounds like a perfect combination to me. Very good business plan as to how it works - and works well for a couple. Actually I don't think I've read one like this at all on Active Rain.

I AGREE Ginny...who wouldn't want us????
Congrats to you Bud and Beth, it can be fun!
Jill. other than"how's the market?"..."how do you stand working with each other?".. is the most frquent question we get :-)
Fernando, quite a number of folks in our office have tried it....most go down in flames...although we have 3 other spousal teams going strong.
Charlie, we are almost identical in how we think about things. We never worry about what the other person is saying or doing.
Barbara, I don't have to pay Jan either...actually I work for her. All team credit goes to her account.
Craig, I will accept the feel good award for today. However..the night is still young and there is time to fight.
Bill, your experience is the norm..it is hard to work it out.If your wife has a real job...that could be WAY better :-)
Thanks Wayne, raindrops and roses..that's us ...all the time...
Scoot you could send me a gift certificate and we promise to think of you while we eat :-)
Debb, that's us ...yin and yang. Of course our children probably have their own views of our smooth relationship but then... they are still young and foolish.
Anna I want a banana suit! Are you sure banana only has two Ns in it?
Steve -- I loved your story and how you and Jan work together and complement each other. You two are definitely a winning combination. P.S. I'll bait my own hook as long as it's not live bait. ha ha
That's great teamwork. One doesn't let another down on this team. I can say, after having a large team, the ones I've let go wanted handouts, where the family seemed to know how to work together.
Hi Steve and Jan,
Congratulations, on a great story and excellent description of how couples and real close teamwork is a great way to serve not only our clients but also live a pfanntastic life
Steve... what a great compliment to your business partner/lifepartner/wife! Keywords: respect, teamwork, compromise, gratitude. You've got it all and together you have built a successful partnership.
Steve,
Sounds like you two are a lot like Amanda and I. We have been doing this full time for three years and love it. We also focus on our different strengths and weaknesses and thankfully they aren't the same. Congrats to your success!
