Dallas Texas real estate is vast as the community expands wide to the north, south, east and west. What is considered the Dallas Metroplex actually encompasses much more than the "City of Dallas." The Dallas area consists of many different counties as people are moving farther from the city for more spacious home locations and more affordable houses. For the most part, Dallas is divided into four sections as follows:

CENTRAL DALLAS
Central Dallas
pertains to the downtown Dallas area including Turtle Creek, UptownWest Village and Oak Lawn. Those areas are where you will find many of the highrises and condos as well as new townhome developments.

Central Dallas also pertains to the Park Cities areas of Highland Park, University Park and Preston Hollow. This is the ritzy area of Dallas, the core of which is Beverly Drive, one of the most prestigious streets in DFW which is located in Highland Park.

The M Streets is a Dallas housing area with many old homes from the 1940s and 1950s that have been restored with great care. The M Streets is an area where many attorneys and young professionals live since it's so close to downtown. The M Streets border East Dallas.

Central Dallas expands North to Highway 635.

EAST DALLAS
East Dallas refers to the Lakewood area as well as parts of the M Streets. The White Rock Lake area of Dallas contains old homes on beautiful tree-lined streets, close to White Rock Lake. The area is lovely! Farther East, you will find homes from the 1960s and the 1970s in Casa Linda and Casa View, bordering the cities of Garland and Mesquite.

SOUTH DALLAS
South Dallas has some nice areas such as Kessler Park and areas farther south offer gorgeous rolling pastures and ranch land. South Dallas borders Duncanville, DeSoto, Lancaster and Grand Prairie to the Southwest.

NORTH DALLAS
North Dallas encompasses the Northern part of the City of Dallas as well as many cities connecting to Dallas such as those in Collin County like McKinney, Allen, Anna, Frisco, The Colony, etc... The housing to the North of Dallas is more affordable than most interior parts of Dallas, as well as more plentiful. Many companies are headquartered int he North Dallas area, making it convenient for commuters coming from the North. The roads are being built farther and farther North, no telling when they'll stop!
