She had the AUDACITY to call me a WITCH.......Unbelievable
It's time to bring out the scary stuff and have some fun getting ready for Halloween. Every year I enjoy making my costume from scratch rather than renting one. I generally try to find stuff I have around the house which doesn't always work. People think it's kind of crazy that I have so many 'costume props' and quite frankly I think it's scary that they don't have fun stuff just hanging around waiting to be put to good use! I grew up with a Mom that loved Halloween and she always came up with fun stuff for all of us kids to appreciate. We could be whoever we wanted to be year after year so naturally it's my job to keep up the tradition, don't you think?
This witch costume is one of my favorites! She's a witch from Mel Brooke's 'Robin Hood Men in Tights'. I saw the film and just knew I had to re-create this 'unusual' witch costume. And it''s not your typical black hat and cape kind of costume!! I had the wig so that was the start. I found some burlap in the garage and that made a great skirt. Add to that was a fancy scarf from Turkey - that seriously looked like the one in the movie. Wrap up a few more odd looking blankets and wraps and the outfit was almost complete. The only thing I didn't have was the witch nose so off to the Spirit store I went...and what a perfect witch nose I found!
