That Wasn't Meant to Happen...
     Nothing below the Heavens is perfect; especially, on this whiling orb traversing through the vast cosmos. But one would hope that in our tech savvy world, some things would occasionally work as expected.
     My gripe? One would think that at 3 or 4AM the servers for this platform would fly - No traffic, no usage, no nothing. Instead, server errors, slow responses, links that take minutes to load...
     <sigh> I really like ActiveRain and the folks who frequent this platform. But for me, time is my most valuable commodity and I can ill afford to waste it waiting for something to happen.
     I know That Wasn't Meant to Happen, and it is really not my fault. I want to participate, but if the ball belongs to someone else, what do you do? Please enlighten me...

Although I see the system dying less, I think the time it takes to do comments is intolerable. The primary reason I have not been commenting much, or blogging as I had, is the technical stuff. I can take a certain amount of time at AR, but I cannot sit and wait one to two minutes for every comment to post. Doing ten comments, with the delays, takes me over 30 minuts. A few years back, maybe it had glitches, but I could get into comments at 8:40pm and get ten decent ones done prior to 9pm. I am just choosing to do less and plan to focus more on posts which are not as clumsy.

Been there too Michael and unlike some of the above comments, rebooting did not solve the problem. I have some great good okay blogs sitting as drafts that I was never able to post.

Michael - based on my experience from my previous career, i would guess that they are restructuring the database or moving it to a larger platform. Usually companies do this when the system has the least amount of traffic. Of course they didn't ask for my approval, so I'm only guessing based on 25 years of doing similar things.

What a beautiful photo above! Your birthday (HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY) must have been yesterday because my computer clock says 11:11 AND THE POST ABOVE is 1:11pm. Funny coincidence.

Been there, done that. My AR login took forever yesterday so I shut everything down, cleaned up my cookies on my fast computer, and started over. That helped, but there have been hiccups lately. Not sure what is going on. I'm sure they'll fix it though. Happy Friday!

I also find this too slow and time consuming. I can watch TV and not miss a beat and comment at the same time! It seems to happen more near time to close for the next days business.
