Legislation dubbed: "Visa Improvements to Stimulate International Tourism to the United States of America Act (VISIT-USA Act)" is pending and would create a real estate visa for foreign homebuyers investing in US real estate. The pending bipartisan bill requires:
$500,000 minimum purchase of residential real estate. A minimum purchase of $250,000 must be for the principal's residence (180 days annually) and the balance maybe residential income property(s).
3 year Visas are proposed. Visas would be renewable until sale of property.
Family members are to be included, but work visas would be required separately.
Selling Price must be above the current appraised value of the property.
Selling Terms must be all cash, no mortgages or loans would be allowed.
