Free Admission & Free Parking!

Old Town La Quinta is quickly becoming the place to be here in the desert!  Especially on the weekends... with the Sunday Farmers' Market each week, and this special event on Saturday!  Come enjoy the sunshine and mountains while you check out the latest from local artisans!

The 7th season of Art Under the Umbrellas, set along the closed-off streets and lawn of charming Old Town La Quinta, opens on Saturday, October 29th with 78 artists presenting newly created works in painting, glass, ceramic, jewelry, wood, sculpture, photography, fiber and mixed media.

Steve Madaio & Friends will entertain art patrons with live music from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.  Don't miss an enjoyable day outdoors perusing artist wares, exploring the unique Old Town shops and dining in Old Town restaurants. Art patrons will find quality artwork, while tourists will discover treasured mementos.

This will be the first of eight Art Under the Umbrella events planned in the 2011/2012 season. The series continues on the following Saturdays: November 26 and December 3, 2011; January 14, February 11, February 18, March 24 and March 31, 2012. Admission and parking is free.  Visit www.lqaf.com for more information.

This year, La Quinta Arts Foundation is celebrating its 30th Anniversary in service to its non-profit mission of "Promoting and Cultivating the Arts," through which $1 million has been awarded in college scholarships to visual art majors.

Oh my, Kathy, Art Under the Umbrellas aounds like my kind of event!  Unfortunately, I would come home with tons of stuff and not a lot of money left!  ;)  This event sounds like a great time for ALL!  Have fun if you get to attend one of the series.
