Bonus ENERGY Rebates Good Through December 2011.
Austin Energy is now offering a Bonus Rebate -- $200 -- to those customers that make green improvements by the end of 2011. This combined with other rebates being offer, including Federal Rebates on energy efficient home improvements and could put more than $2,000 back in your pocket.
But you need to act before the end of the year.
Here is how it works and it may sound a bit cumbersome, but it really is not.
Login to the City of Austin web site and look for Rebates page or just follow the link. Review the residential home rebates being offered then proceed to the page which provides you with a list of approved suppliers. You will see suppliers for both home performance as well as commercial.
An Austin company who is one of my all time favorites on assessing your home and providing energy efficient solutions is GreenCollar. Unless their policy has changed, they even file your rebates for you.
A client of mine had his home evaluated recently and GreenCollar suggested THREE improvements which would reduce their energy costs significantly and reward them with $800 in rebates, resulting in only $400 of out-of-pocket expenses. Smart right?
The money saving, money back green improvements ALSO categorized his home as “Energy Efficient” lifted the requirement of an energy audit when he is ready to sell. (This is a relatively new ordinance with City of Austin customers and applies to homes, condos and multi-family more than 10 years old).
DON’T LET THIS DEADLINE SLIP BY.
