Warren County & Cincinnati Area Things to Do October 28-30 2011
We hate to say it, but the outdoor options are going to be dwindling fast after this weekend! The weather is chilling and prime festival time is calling time out on the outdoor activities. Kings Island shuts the gates after this weekend, the October Farm Festivals are wrapping up, so get your last dose of them while you can, and before we find more indoor activities drawing us to them! Click the links where we have them for more information on the available events!
Christ's Church at Mason is holding a Family Friendly Fall Festival and Trunk-n-Treat Sunday from 3 to 6 p.m. Lots of fun, open to everyone. They're asking for a canned food donation to help build up for the holiday food drive! Located at the corner of Western Row and Mason-Montgomery Rd, with entrances from either road.
And we've still got plenty of recurring events for the fall season, so here are some of the repeat events:
- If you're looking for something scary, head to Morgan's Campground in Morrow for the Forest of Lost Souls and Haunted River! It's a unique combination you won't find at other scare-fests! Fridays and Saturday evenings in October!
- Need to put some BOO in your October? LAST CHANCE FOR KING'S ISLAND!!! Kings Island's Halloween Haunt is in full scare mode! Lots of haunted mazes, and a good many of rides are open too! Buy your tickets online to get the discount. Go back to the link for more details! And for more Halloween related fun, they've got the Howl-o-Fest from noon-5 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays through October 31! This part is more kid friendly, with costume contests, mazes, petting zoos, foam pits, pony rides and more!
- And the Lebanon Mason Monroe Railroad is running the Pumpkin Patch Express every weekend in October! You can even pick & purchase your own pie pumpkin at Schappacher Farm as part of the excursion!
And for the farm related events:
- Lebanon's Irons Fruit Farm has a 12 acre corn maze that's now open weekends through the end of October! Saturday's 11-5, Sundays 12-5. Ages 4 and under free, 5-12 $4, 13 & up $6. Located at 1640 Stubbs Mill Rd (turn at the Bob Evans at SR123), they've got fruit, jams & jellies, baked goods and more to offer too!
- Or you can head to Clarksville's Bonnybrook Farms for their Pumpkin and Gourd Festival weekends! And their Giant Slingshot sounds like a LOT of fun too!
- Another option is Waynesville's Keepin' It Country Farm Festival Weekends! More fun here, and barn dances with live entertainment on Saturday evenings!
- And if you go to Hidden Valley Fruit Farm, they'll throw in a pumpkin with your $4 hayride ticket! On SR 48 just north of Lebanon!
If you head down to the Cincinnati Museum Center, they're hosting Batfest! What could be more appropriate for a Halloween weekend?
So we think there's enough here to find something fun for everyone in the family! We hope you have a fantastic fall weekend!
