The day's events include an apple/pumpkin bake-off, a Flight of the Vampire 5k run and a scarecrow display with Scarecrows on the Lawn at Transylvania Heritage Museum as well as traditional family favorites like a costume parade, a spooky hay maze, a pumpkin carving competition and a downtown trick or treat walk.
Included in the Halloween Fest is the 16th Annual Old Time Music Competition, where contemporary artists honor the mountain music traditions of old. Performers will entertain you with traditional string intruments such as the fiddle, banjo, dulcimer, guitar, and mandolin.
