Well its the day after Halloween, trick or treat is over and you have all that left over candy staring you right in the face. All those little snack size bars are so innocently small, you tell yourself one wont hurt....

Well if your like me you must get rid of the candy, I have a strong determination to succeed. But the fact is those little candy bars distract me. They keep staring at me, they are calling my name....

My husband was in charge of getting the candy for the trick or treaters, this plan normally works for me. You see if I pick out the candy surely I will pick out the ones I like. But my plan backfired as I forgot home much I like those 100 Grand!

One wont hurt, this I know then two, okay I had three little snack size bars! Okay I enjoyed them I admit it...I had the most amazing bouncing off the walls sugar rush you could ever imagine! Then I woke up this morning getting ready for my normal fitness routine and the guilt started to settle in....what did I do!

Now I must plan on burning those extra calories,I will work in some extra cardio into my routine this will burn off the extra calories. This I will do for me because I refuse to let that little candy bar control me! If you fall down get right back up, don't let a little set back hold you back from accomplishing your goals.

The bottom line, is we all make mistakes nobody is perfect!

You're killing me with craziness..... The guilty feelings probally do more harm to you then the few extra calorie's.... Don't stress yourself worrying about the small stuff...  Enjoy Life and remember moderation never hurts...  -  BTW.... I didn't eat any of the leftovers....  :-)

I agree don't let one little slip up ruin your positive attitude.  Send all left over candy to your office mates, or leave them at the front desk for the staff and drop ins.  Get them out of plain sight and, work the cardio.

My kids get about 2 days to enjoy their candy, then I start throwing it away bit by bit. The candy bowl will be empty in a week and they will think they ate it all. They don't realize that 90% of it went in the trash or to the office candy dish.

Its just too much candy! I don't even want to look at it because I know the damage I can do to myself with it.

Suzanne-If we all took our bodies this seriously nobody would be overweight. So thank you for being the example that we all need.  I'm not a big chocolate eater.  My down fall when it comes to candy, would be licorice and hot tamales.  Arrrg!

Suzanne...how often do you actually indulge?  COME ON...I'm proud of you!!  It's not like you're going to do it again tomorrow...and the next day...and the next day...

THANKS for letting us know you're human and not just a WORK OUT MACHINE!!  :-)

PS...The hard part is knowing it wasn't me or Dan who tempted you.  Your husband is the guilty party!  LOL

Hi Susie,

It usually takes a lot to temp me, I will pick something up read the label and put it back down. The label said 30% less fat and there was no turning back..LOL! Thank you for your support! :)

I tell my wife all the time  "DON'T BUY CANDY" because I know I will eat it! I don't miss it if it's not in the house, but once it's past that front door I know where it's going to end up. :(

Simon,

You are not alone, one of my rules for candy or anything else considered junk food is not to have it in the house. I had to give the kids candy.....;)

We are on a busy road and we have a good size neighborhood behind us so we don't need to keep candy in the house. The problem comes when I go into the office and there is the candy jar. Every once in awhile I sneak a piece and I know I can work it off. But, I do feel a little guilty.

Suzanne - They do tempt, don't they? We had a Marine Major just back from Iraq speak to us. He asked us to bring our leftover candy into the Association office so it could be sent to the troops. They'll be getting quite a few treats shortly!

Are you still obsessing about the candy.....my god, people, lighten up! One, two or even three candy bars in the whole scheme of life will not make one hell of a difference.......Go ahead and go crazy once a year....Now, I'm off to go eat my Milky Way.......

Ines,

Kids are funny, after the candy you can see them change right before your eyes! Of course, they don't have to worry about the extra calories. :)

Sandra,

You are just sooo lucky that you are naturally thin, some of us have to watch every calorie! Btw, I'm over it! LOL! :)

I have nooooooo will power when it comes to candy so I exercise will power by buying the candy the day of or the day before Halloween then I load the trick-or-treaters up big in order to get rid of mine.

Where I lose is when my kids come home....and then they go to sleep...and the peanut butter cups start calling!
