The Simple Truth Behind Great Customer Service

Reblogger Dorie Dillard Austin TX

I read Rebekah Radice's post this morning and have emailed it to my broker, two Title marketing representatives and two Human Resource friends with local companies! The video is inspiring and the message is one that is clearly amazingly simple but so true! Great Service does come from the heart and is memorable and so fulfilling!

Great Customer Service

Have you ever had one of those customer service experiences that put the "uh" in uh-mazing?  A wow moment that left you feeling indebted to the benefactor of such an unbelievable gift.  The sad but simple truth is that great customer service experiences stand out like a beacon in our brains because they are so few and far between.  It's unfortunate that these instances are fleeting as we've become a society full of blamers, takers and users.

As sales professionals, we know that whether it's great customer service or poor customer service, our willingness to outshine the competition will leave a lasting impression on our customers, peers, vendors and referral partners.

The Simple Truth Behind Great Customer Service

  1. Great customer service doesn't care what time it is or that you have had a really difficult day. Great customer service happens morning, noon and night without fail.
  2. Great customer service extends beyond your typical daily duties and into the remarkable world of going above and beyond.
  3. Great customer service doesn't end at the closing table, it only begins.
  4. Great customer service comes from the heart, not the pocket book.
  5. Great customer service means one-on-one relationships and cannot be delegated to anyone else but YOU!
What else would you add to this list?  Where have you seen exceptional customer service and what examples could you give?

Take a few minutes and watch this inspirational video of one man's vision of what truly great customer service looks like on a daily basis.

Dorie, I had seen this story before and it doesn't fail to deliver the strong message once again. I recall an acting coach who told me once, there are no small parts, only small actors. And Johnny has proven that every day.

I found tears coming from my eyes and heart as this video was nearing to an end.  What an inspiration to us all.  Leave it to Rebekah to come up with this for us.  She's something.  I was watching Oprah in the wee hours, could sleep.  Her new show on her OWN network.  She talked about the spirit of giving and how it goes on and on.  Maybe I'll get a chance to blog about it soon.  Off to the hospital; maybe I can give something special on my rounds today. :) Gail
