October - Snow day 10 -30-11

I have seen snow totals over two feet in places around New Hampshire - we didn't get that much in Woodstock, but a nice dusting for this early.

More pictures to come later...silent Sunday - time to shovel.

We just can't decide if it's still Fall foliage or Winter is here to stay?

The Prediction are for Temps in the mid - 50's later in the week...so a return to fall is likely before the true winter weather sets in for the ski season.

But try telling that to this poor bushel of Mums...the yellow flowers offer a nice contrast to the white snow.

We got a lot here in NY, esp for October.  Hopefully, it will melt quickly.  Hoping this winter isn't as bad as last winter.

We got none here at the Jersey Shore, but north Jersey was not as lucky.  It's very early for snow in my neck of the woods!

Laura...I imagine the Sea & salt air stopped you guys from snow this early...We got about 6 inched so far and of course it's still snowing.

Melissa...as I said we are looking at a return of the warm weather, I'm not putting the plow on yet...it just digs up the soft dirt this time of year. I'll drive over this stuff till the ground is frozen.

I was blown away yesterday with all of the pictures rolling in on the Twitter and FB feeds of the snow.  Unreal!  As always, you have captured some beautiful shots!

Steve we got about 8" and I have been without power since mid-night from all the down trees and branches.  My laptop does not have a card reader so I have to wait until I get power back so I can post some of the pictures.

I love the first snow fall of the year.  but hopefull with Deer Hunting starting this coming weekend, it doesn't snow until the following weekend.\

I know a lot of hunters want snow for Deer Hunting so they can track their deer, but if the ethical hunters wait and take a good shot, they won't have to track it far at all.

George...good luck with the power...that makes it tough at least it was a weekend.

Bill, I always wondered who decided to time the official seasons - the local licensing folks must be hunters too.

Wow Steve!  Saw it on the news but it's hard to believe!  I'm glad we are still having beautiful weather here where I live in El Dorado Hills.   Even in the winter we only get dustings once in a while and that's fine by me!  Thanks for sharing!
