The First Major Snowstorm Is Not a Pretty Sight

By
Real Estate Agent with Prudential CT Realty
We got smacked yesterday with one of the worst snowstorms ever. The. leaves had not yet fallen off the trees so the heavy snow weighed down the trees and brought huge limbs crashing to the ground. Power lines are down everywhere, and we expect toi be without power for days, if not longer. For those of us with wells, there is the added burden of no water. The only good thing is that we can melt snow to flush toilets. I think areas on wells should be on a priority list for restoring power. Without heat, water, and power, this storm is worse than Hurricane Irene. When I am able to load pictures, you will see what I mean.

Wow your in CT! I am in DE and we only had rain but about 2 hours north in NJ it was a mess. I can only imagine what it was like in NY, PA, MA and CT area. I guess this is your break in for a crazy, messy winter! Be safe!

Peggy, I was watching the news and we were lucky. I can still see my grass in most parts.

Hope you can get back to resuming life as you know it, even though sometimes life without power gives us opportunities wh other wise may not take advantage off

Enjoy the day

Hi

This is why I am very happy living in the middle of the Napa Valley. I used to live in Arlington, VA and went to college at Ohio State and still shiver at the thought of some of the winters there.

Here it is a very Mediterranean climate with about 30 inches of rain in the winter and reasonable summers with generally 50% or less humidity.

Peggy I have water, but no power and my house is all electric.  This is the first time in my life that I have been without power in the winter for this long.  I have some battery power left on the laptop, so this is my entertainment for the evening.

Thanks everyone! Right now, I am posting from my phone so I must be brief! We just got our paper and found out that we are in it for the long haul! I feel like a pioneer and not happy about that.
