Hi Laura, When you are here in person, it is truly spectacular. And If I had a 400 or 500 mm lens, I would have shown you the type of flowers and wild plants in that field. :-)

Hi Kirsten, I know that Bridge has a name but off hand I can't think of it. This was taken as I was heading up into the Big Sur area.

William, now I think my local views are just downright shabby!  LOL.  Just goes to show us what an incredible country we live in and the breadth of different scenery available to us.  Breathtaking photo and I really like the 3 mat colors.

William,  one of these days I must check out that side of the world.  I live on the East Coast and our beach is totally different.  Beautiful but different.

both photos that you posted William are beautiful...just breath taking :) I wonder what that land smells like, hahaha...I know it sounds silly.  But it just seem so different because you have this rich greenery with the ocean.

William, your photo takes me back to many years ago, travelling down Highway 101, from Oregon. Stunning rocky vistas as far as the eye could see with windblown trees and layers upon layers of blue-grey waters with frothy beaches. It's SO different than the east coast and the Atlantic.

I don't know which photo I like best--that other one for Gary is really spectacular!

William--What a wonderful way to make someone in Minnesota feel warm! Your coastline is very inviting when our temps are dropping. Thanks for sharing the view!

William - That looks like Big Sur traveling South to North.  I think I have the other view coming from North to South:-)  It's gorgeous either way you drive it, as long as its not into the sea:-)

Hi William - It has been years since I was on that highway and heading to Big Sur for a great few days.  It may be time for a return trip!

Hi William,

I can certainly see why people would want to photograph that gorgeous coastline.  Exquisite!

Hi Mona, I would certainly have to agree with you. Every part of our country has thrilling and beautiful views and vistas. Even a plain old barn or a wood covered bridge, a stream in a thicket of trees. Each view is different and each one important. The vastness of this coastline and its stunning beauty must be seen. But so must the small church on the wooded lot with its steeple diving the sun rays. Every leaf is magnificent in design. Beauty surrounds every aspect of every life if we but open our eyes and our imaginations. Being a photographer forces you see life in wholly different ways and you begin to understand the completeness of it all.

Hi Marian, And I promise that you will be enthralled by it. It is beautiful in own way the way your coast is in its own way. Seeing the beauty of both is essential.

Hi Laura, it has a fresh ocean smell and it has a lushness even though it can be dry at least half of the year. But the lushness in moderate temperature can  be replaced with a dry brown in the heat of the summer. Beautiful though because it remains in a natural state year around. The views and vistas are a treasure of the coastline.

Hi Gayle, The coastline is jagged and rocky and so awesome in its grandeur. Both coasts have different kinds of beauty and both are to be enjoyed and appreciated. I love how it changes  North to South. Central California is a treasure of the entire state.

Good Morning Keith, thank you so much. It was so spectacular that no one can ever take a bad shot. It does make you realize how small we are in contrast.

Hi Teri, Our tempps can get cold as well but when the sun is out, this coastime image turns almost magical. Some say the same even when overcast which this area tends to be a lot of the time. It has a coolness even on warm days.

Hi Myrl, and I would at least a few to have done that. There are places where the road feels thinner than the car and when another car is approaching, well, close your eyes and hope for  the best, LOL. PS, I guess closing your eyes probably is not the right thing to do, LMAO.

Hi Susan, I can't  think of a time when I would turn down that trip. Especially if someone else drives, LOL. Take that trip again, it never loses its luster no matter how many times you see it. I discovered some water falls along the way and they are just fabulous.

Hi Lisa, I doubt there is a photographer in CA that hasn't photographed this area. PA has the mountains ranges that make it spectacular too! Love it all.
