Trunk or Treat in Stuart Florida
Gathering on the blustery eve of Halloween a group of families, accompanied by pets and all, meet and trick or treat at Stuart’s Redeemer Lutheran Church’s second annual “Trunk or Treat”. Trunk or Treat not only gives children and their families excuses to dress up in the safe community of their church and friends, like their favorite wizard or fairy but also is a competition among contestants to see which can decorate the trunk of their car in the most Halloween spirited fashion.
Coordinator Holly Ridaway says, while looking on at the excited crowd, that it is the “community that allows such gathering like Trunk or Treat to work, where everyone can come out and have fun together”. While children race around collecting candy and viewing the decorated trunks their parents chat on the festive environment. One adult comments that children from other towns often show up to gatherings like Trunk or Treat to participate in the fun while another laughs at the time spent decorating their car’s trunk.
Taking place next year and hopefully for years to come Trunk or Treat is just one of the fun and safe Halloween celebrations that add to the charming community of Martin County.
