The Ball Ground City Council approved the annexation of nine parcels that, collectively, expand the city by almost 216 acres during its Oct. 11 meeting, but tabled decisions on three tracts that collectively would add more than 1,100 acres.
The city council voted 4-0 to delay action on the annexation petition of developer Dale Turner and Cherry Grove Properties for 1,011 acres located northeast of the city off Cherry Grove Road.
Officials also tabled the annexation petition of Gary R. Burrows for an adjoining 90-acre Cherry Grove Road tract.
The annexation application for a 15-acre tract for a car crusher operation along the edge of the southern end of the city was tabled by a 4-0 vote.
All votes by the city council were approved 4-0. Councilman John Byrd was absent. Mayor Rick Roberts doesn't vote except to break ties.
