I chose to feature Crossroads Animal Shelter in Buffalo, MN for my Attitude of Gratitude.
This non-profit organization does whatever it can to take on animals and move them into forever homes.
The organization has been operating since 1999, and as of May 2011 they have helped more than 5700 animals.
What I appreciate about this group is they continually have events and fundraisers to bring in money for the animals and the shelters. There are employees and volunteers who work tireless to keep the animals in healthy and loving conditions.
They do what they can to stay in front of the public eye, including constantly updating their Facebook page on incoming/outgoing animals. As someone who volunteers at the shelter, it is wonderful to be able to see which animals find homes via Facebook.
I understand that there are several people in difficult situations right now given the economy, but as a result several animals a
Their latest fundraisers include "Pose with Pet with Santa" and "Give to the Max".re abandoned or surrendered because the owners cannot care for them any longer. It is nice that there are groups and individuals around who are able to take on the care of these pets and look out for their best interest.
So thank you Crossroads and all the pet shelters out there who are taking on more than there share!
