Orenco Station, answer to Where is it Wednesday...somewhere in Hillsboro, OR 11/2/11
Oh boy, I can't believe it's November already!! Where did this year go? Each week I'll be posting a new picture on Wednesday morning. The title of the blog will have the City where the picture is taken and I'll post the answer Wednesday evening...not only here on my blog, but on facebook business page (please click like and add yourself there) as well as tweetin it on my Twitter page. Looks like I must have been making them a bit hard these last few weeks as although John was very close, there were no correct answers to last week's Willamette General Store, answer to Where is it Wednesday...somewhere in West Linn, OR 10/26/11. Remember, you're free to google or use whatever there is on hand.
Do you know where it is? Care to guess? Comments are welcome! I'll post the answer tonight.
Hint: In the midst of Portland's high tech corridor, this community was a forerunner in a fantastic inovative sustainable lifestyle and carless commuting. It also has a park that has the same name as a HUGE well known park in Manhattan.

Orenco Station, answer to Where is it Wednesday...somewhere in Hillsboro, OR. 11/2/11
I can remember when I lived in Austin Texas and knew I was moving to Portland, my neighbor showed a Better Homes and Gardens magazine where it highlighted Orenco Station as a new type of neighborhood where you could live sustainably by having everything you need in close distance to your home. That was back in 2000..the year I moved to Portland.
Orenco Station is indeed one of those neighborhoods where you can walk a block or two to the New Seasons Market for groceries..or the Farmer's Market when it's open during the year. Local restaurants, shops and of course Starbucks makes this a desirable place to live. The Max line being close by helps those commuters get to places without getting into a car. An easy bike ride can get you to work at any of the nearby HighTech plants..one notably Intel. Orenco Station is right in the midst of Portland's HighTech Corridor but has this really nice feel to it with it's brownstones, flower lined streets and it's own Central Park. Just being there taking some pictures, I felt like a slacker not being one of those many people out and about walking and jogging.
If you're moving to Hillsboro, check out Orenco Station. Give me a call...I'd be happy to find you a home here!
Talk about wonderful curb appeal! These just call you to want to see what's inside!
