With Thanksgiving just a few weeks away, I'm taking this opportunity to write a few things I'm thankful for:
Real Estate
- My buyers and sellers that have chosen to work with me - I'm thankful that I am part of a process that allows people to achieve their real estate goals, whether its buying or selling their own house, or buying investment property.
- The ActiveRain community - This place is such a great source of knowledge, encouragement, inspiration, motivation...you name it! Without the ActiveRain community, I don't think I would be as successful as I am right now or as excited to become the best Realtor I can be.
- My mentors - Someone once told me, "The key to your success is your mentor" and I've always believed in that. Of course, ActiveRain is one of my biggest mentors, but also my broker, other agents that I've had the honor to work with, and other real estate educators have all helped me learn the ropes in this business.
Personal
- My husband - for all those times he cooked dinner so I could blog on ActiveRain. :) Seriously, we didn't know what we were getting ourselves into with real estate. Thankfully, we've grown TOGETHER through this learning process and there isn't anyone else I'd rather be experiencing the ups ("My first closing!") and the downs ("Why is this buyer so difficult to work with?"). People always say that you should have a reason for why you do real estate, and spending time and traveling with my husband is why I am doing this.
- My sister - for still sending me care packages on my birthday with delicious brownies. She has been and will always be my best friend. I'm so thankful to have such an awesome older sister to lean on for advice and laughs.
- My parents - for never doubting that I can do anything I put my mind to and for always saying "No matter what, we love you." They are the ones that fostered a strong sense of confidence that has allowed me take risks and know everything will always work out.
- My family and friends - for their support and encouragement in deciding to embark on my real estate journey. I thought I would have gotten more comments like "You have a job, why are you doing real estate?", but instead I heard, "That's so cool. Let me know how it goes because I've always wanted to get into real estate!"
