What’s Going on this Weekend, “In and Around Springfield, Mo?”  November 4, November 5, November 6, 2011.   There is A LOT going on, “In and Around Springfield, Mo”  

           There are things to do for FREE and for a price!   No matter what you choose do this weekend, make it a fun and exciting weekend and most of all memorable! 

·         November 4 and 5th,   Civil War Lantern Light Tour at Smallin Cave.   Cost @29.95.  Pre-registration and $5.00 deposit required, email SmallinCave@suddenlink.net with additional questions, enjoy a campfire dinner under the stars.    Visit with Southern Bells, Balknobbers, and experience a lantern-light adventure into Smallin Civil War Cave.

·         November 4th, Family Art Walk 6:30 to 9pm at the Downtown Y, 417 S. Jefferson Ave in Springfield, MO    Child care for ages 3 months-12 years old.   Parents can enjoy art walk while kids enjoy activities and snacks, story time and a hands on art project to take home.   Cost is $10.00, call 862-8962 ext 149 to pre-register. 

·         November 4th, First Baptist Church at 525 South Avenue in Springfield, MO will offer FREE hotdogs, water, and free parking during First Friday Art Walk.    Call 866-72022 for more information.  

·         November 4, First Friday Art Walk and 10th Anniversary Celebration.    A self-guided art gallery tour, 6-10pm Downtown Springfield.    Features art, live music and hands-on activities at several venues.   Exhibits remain at galleries throughout the month.     FREE.    call 849-8255 for questions. ·         Hunter’s Education, November 4, 6 to 9pm, and November 5 8am to 5p, m at Conservation Nature Center at 4601 S. Nature Center Way.     This is 10 hour class course required for anyone born after Jan. 1, 1967, who wants to hunt with firearms in Missouri.     FREE, Registration required. ·         November 4 and 5, Symphony Guild Antique Show and Sale at 10am to 5pm at Remington’s at 1655 W. Republic Road.   Appraisers available from 10 am to 3pm Saturday.   $5.00 for each appraisal.    All proceeds go to benefit the Springfield Symphony Orchestra.    Show admission is $5.00 and is good for both days.   864-6683

·         November 5, Saturday, Silver Dollar City’s “An Old Time Christmas” opens and continues through December 30.   Click here for this weeks schedule to plan your visit.   Features five-story tall special effects tree and light and sound show on the square, a production of “A Christmas Carol,” holiday light parade, interactive kids show, holiday foods and more than 4 million lights.    Tickets (tax included) $59.11, $56.96 for ages 62 and over, $48.36 for ages 4-11, free for 2 and younger.    800-831-4386. 

·         November 5, Missing or Murdered in Missouri: Unsolved and Solved Cases” Book signing with author Barbara Kemm-Highton at Barnes and Noble Bookstore at 1 to 3pm. ·         November 6, Kirkin’ of the Tartans, presented by Scottish Saint Andrew’s Society of Springfield, 7pm. At the St. John’s Episcopal Church at 515 E.
