Annual Registeration Reminders

Alarm Permits Expire on December 31. Anyone with a commercial or residential alarm system in the City of Heath is required to obtain an annual permit. Alarm systems should be registered or renewed by January 1, 2012. A penalty of $200.00 may be charged for alarm systems operated with out a permit.

Heath residents received notices and a renewal form in their utility bill and newsletters. Forms may also be downloaded at www.heathtx.com under City Documents or by going to the Heath City Hall. Call Customer Service at the Heath City Hall at 972-771-6228.

Dog Registrations also expire on December 31 each year. The annual cost is $10.00 for intact dogs and $5.00 for dogs that have been spayed or neutered. Current rabies certification must be taken to the Heath City Hall to update or obtain your dog's registration tag.

Be sure your Heath Dog is legal!

Hello Barbara,

I have a question, why would you have to pay $200.00 to have a working burglar alarm?

That seems a little excessive. I can see getting a tag for the pets. But paying a fee for just having a burgler alarm that is working. WOW.

Clint - it does not cost $200.00 to have a working alarm. That is the penalty charged if you do not register the alarm with the City. The City police has to come when alarms go off, thus you must register the alarms with the city.

Conrad - it does not cost $200.00 per year...that is the penalty for not registering with the City. The city needs the information to send the police out when alarms go off. It is not the security companies that come out when an alarm goes off, it is the local police. Again...no $200 charge unless you fail to register the alarm system.

Larry Sheila - the alarm permits are renewed each year so that the City has current information in case of an emergency when the police have to answer alarm calls. The $200. is the penalty for not renewing the permit. It is important that the information is current so that the residents receive the best service and protection.
