8 Comments on MOUNTAIN BIKING LIKING AND KISSING THE DIRT
There's nothing like mountain biking...being in nature and meeting the challenges the trail has to bring. You guys look like pros, and you know you've done something when you finish the ride dirty and bleeding.
Debbie...you speak like our like kind...You captured it and I have four different places on my body that are bruised, bleeding and sore that say...this lady knows her stuff...thank you for sharing Debbie my fellow explorer
Thanks for the inspiring post! I always enjoy reading about someone who is enjoying getting some good exercise, and with good friends to boot. Got to add something similar to my calendar, now!
I started training for a charity ride. This was two years ago, and I was breaking in a new bike with cletted pedals. Full suspension...front and back. ( I don't like back suspension, you can't get enough air off a good jump. ) I went into work the next day in an arm sling and with road rash on one whole side of my leg. My foot stuck in the pedal and I had to dump the bike, with me on it, to avoid the row of mailboxes. This was on a gravel road. I didn't even get to the challenging trail part of that ride. This happened about half a mile from my house. ( I'm laughing now, but then I was almost crying, and yelling words my parents told me to never say. It took me about 15 minutes to get my shoulder back into place, and then I went home. ) My fellow agents thought I was nuts, and asked if I would get on a bike again. "Of course", I said.
Very cool Richie, biking gives you a great freedom & way to clear the annals of real estate issues as one traverses the glorious nature paths...me i pick a nice day...you are diehards and so glad to see you connecting well!
Boy bonding is the way to go. Add wilderness to it and the Indiana Jones comes out in everyone..Fred, join us right away...don't wait another moment...thank you for coming by and commenting
Debbie....A real trooper, an Amazon princess and warrior. Dare I say it, one of my heroes she-roes...Suspension is a controversial item amongst bikers. It absorbs the ride which helps the buttocks and joints, but allows for a slight disconnect from the body controls. After all, the bike should be an extension of your body after a while. On clets, I rode with them for years. For road biking, its good to go. For off-road, I question it. One thing, being able to use the pulling up muscle that clets provide for is pretty decent. I fell so many times until I mastered the " clet disconnect". Debbie, you would make a fine biking partner...watch that @%!$# however!
Ginny..the viking biking queen? Who would have known? Gin, you start pedaling and the Real Estate blues leave along with everything else and it is like the world turned into one giant turning ball for us to explore...Good stuff Gin
What a great thing to do to clear the mind and get that blood flowing--great exercise! I used to do a little cycling but, have not done it in a very long time. I miss communing with nature and enjoying the sights and smells of the forest and trails--I don't miss the scrapes and bruises though!! LOL
Hello Debe dear...come back to your little girl roots minus the scrapes and boo boos of course...
