We have a small, local casualty of the drama in the housing market. Merritt Homes is ceasing operations in their two communities in the Charlotte NC area. 

One community is Moss Creek, which is a master-planned community in Concord NC.  Any builders or investors out there who might have an interest in completing these three homes, please contact me as soon as possible

The other community is Kellswater Bridge, a fiber-optic connected community in Kannapolis NC.  There are two homes here that are in need of completion.  Again, if you're a builder or investor, these will be great opportunities.

Merritt's homes are built in the craftsman style, and have been starting at the $170,000 price point.

I'll be interested to find out if they're closing up shop completely or just here.  My guess would be complete, it's rare for a viable builder to leave in the middle of construction unless something is really wrong.
