While we were down in San Francisco for the Inman Real Estate Connect conference Rodney Rumford of RealEstateBuzzBox.com did a video interview of us that he turned into a podcast on his site.  Rodney filmed quite a bit of video down at Inman, so I'm sure several more podcasts will appear on the site over the next several days.

We had some very interesting discussions with him along with the team from RealEstateBlogSites.com who took us out to excellent Chinese restaurant and also have been doing their part to help promote this network.  As they put put it they are offering the "cadillac" of real estate blogging and podcasting systems.  From what they've shown us it definetly seems to be effective for generating exposure and I've talked to a few agents who seem to like the results they are getting from the system.

Actually got to listen to the you two young gentlemen. Those podcasts are pretty amazing in and of themselves. Another great marketing tool me thinks.  You did a great job, really enjoyed it, and thanks for giving us this great site to network and share ideas. Linda

Linda,

Audio and video podcasting in the real estate industry is in it's infancy of adoption in the real estate industry. Podcasting is an amazingly effective lead generation, marketing, online search visibility, branding and sales tool.

We actually designed the first podcasting platform for the real estate industry that actually makes it really easy to produce, create, host and market your podcasts online.

Cheers

Jim,

If you think this is cool wait till you see the other cool stuff we are doing with this technology. You should get your group at NAR to talk with us about how we can help NAR use this technology in a highly strategic and effective manner.

Audio & Video podcasting has many applications and uses... many of them are not obvious to the casual observer... and the benefits are quite impressive depending on the specific business, marketing and communication objectives.

I will be blogging in the near future about how real estate professionals can leverage podcasting technology for many uses. :)

It's a very cool technology, and I'm finding it to be a great listing tool, as it sets me apart from literally EVERY agent in New England.  I've been doing video podcasts of all of my listings (in conjunction with online video tours of all listings) as well as community tours of the towns I work in since December '05, and it's definitely an incredible marketing opportunity.  I have links all over in the search engines to my site and to my podcasts (also available on iTunes under "New Hampshire Real Estate Show") which is generating traffic to my site.  There are dozens of podcast directories with links pointing to me - all indexed in the major search engines.... Traffic, traffic, traffic!

There are few opportunities online these days to have an 'edge' over your competition, but this (for now) is one way.  It even got my website a mention on the Boston 11PM newcast about real estate podcasts, which generated 100 hits an hour for several days to my site, as well as several newspaper articles about my podcasts.

So there's definitely a 'buzz' at this stage.  How much it helps directly sell properties remains to be seen, but it does "sell me" as being on the cutting (or bleeding?) edge, which is important to many customers.
