Realtor®Linda Steinof New York was apparently murdered in here upscale 5th Avenue penthouse apartment in Manhattan.
When I was selling Real Estate in NY..... I remember hearing about her and wondered how she was able to cultivate so much business and how she was able to become a very successful Realtor®. From what I read about her she actually started as manager of the Ramones. She had married and divorced music mogul Seymour Stein of Sire records. Soon after she got her Real Estate license. She was friends with many celebrities such as Madonna, Sting, Billy Joel, Christie Brinkley, Bruce Willis, Jann Wenner, Michael Douglas, Steven Spielberg, and Elton John.
She was known to have raised millions of dollars forbreast cancer. The results of the autopsy were released and determined that she died from blows to the head and neck. There will be an ongoing investigation as to the motive of her murder. The building she lived in was highly secured. Police are still questioning people as well as looking at security cameras to see who was in and out of the building on the day of the murder. You can read the story more in detail at the Daily News website.
Let us pray for her family during this terrible time.

Was she the same agent who went after Jerry Seinfeld to make him pay his commissions? Such a sad story-no one deserves to die like that.
I was curious to know about it when I saw the news. I'm from there and practiced RE there as well. No one deserves that. I know an agent here who was mugged a few years ago at gun point and she was also threatened after she put the guy behind bars.
That is sad to hear. The one thing about real estate agents is we are public figures. We market ourselves and are out in the public daily. If some nut case gets mad at us we are easy targets.
Neal, it is ashame when anyone loses their life prematurely.
Tthat is quit a list of celebrities no wonder she was successful in Real Estate. Those people not only purchase expensive house but they can also open many more doors.
Thanks for stopping ny..I though t since I started my RE career there that it was only right to post something about it...we need to realize we expose ourselves to the unknown.
Kimberly,
It was on last night on CNN. That is when I wanted to hear where and who in case I knew the person. She was apparently very famous as a Realtor(R)
Neal, life if full of unexpected events and sudden tragic endings. Life is so fragile and fleeting that we have to appreciate what we have, and treasure our relationships while we have them...
Good morning Neal, My prayers and thoughts to this family, what a sad story. I agree with Brian, we must smell the roses daily. Go hug and kiss your wife and kids. :0)
I read about this yesterday in the news. She sure led some life huh? Very successful, and from what I read powerful, even from her hospital bed while fighting cancer herself, and beating it 3 times. I also got the feeling she was highly respected too. Her and her ex were still best friends too. So sad.....
Hi Neal, thanks for the post. I missed seeing this on TV, but first heard about it online and then read lots of articles about her....sad to hear and she was only 62...I hope they're able to solve the Crime.
