After a break of almost eight months, it feels right to return to ActiveRain blogging.
The seeds for my ActiveRain blogging break were actually planted early in February 2011, when a new opportunity came my way, right out of the blue.
Presenting itself as a keynote address to a business group, the opportunity offered more than simply preparing and delivering a one-time only speech.
As of today, the same factors that led to the keynote address also stimulated six very desirable outcomes...actually seven if you include my return to ActiveRain blogging.
1. The Best Internet Marketing Course for Small Business
Last winter, the Town of Caledon located about an hour north-west of downtown Toronto conducted a business survey which among other questions asked owners of small businesses what professional development training would help them improve their overall business performance.
The keynote address was the town's response to the survey results.
When I saw the survey results, I realized that virtually all small businesses everywhere had the same training needs. In response, I designed The Best Internet Marketing Course for Small Business.
Check it out...the principles apply equally to real estate businesses as they do to all small business.
2. Eight E-Books
These e-books represent the content of the course.
3. A Better Understanding of Social Media Marketing
In designing the course for online promotion and distribution, I had to dramatically increase my knowledge and comfort level of using social media marketing.
Dramatic increase here. From a numbers perspective, I increased my Facebook friends from 59 to more than 600. I also increased my Linkedin connections from 14 to more than 500.
Many of these friends and connections are become key strategic partners and clients.
If we are not already connected on either Facebook or Linked in, feel free to add me.
4. Refined Coaching Focus
Although I had dabbled in coaching for the past few years, over the past few months, I have defined my target market more closely to focus on professional service marketing.
And by way of further refinement, my USP is laser coaching.
5. A New Website
On October 20 I started working a new website for my coaching service.
Thanks to some great technological advances in website building, I completed my new site in less than five days of work...and without a single call to a help desk.
6. A New Blog
Last week, I launched a new blog that focuses on my professional service marketing coaching.
So with all of these new initiatives, why did I decide to return to ActiveRain blogging?
There are two main reasons for this.
First, even though this blog has been inactive for almost eight months, comments to my existing posts have continued to trickle in. Since the blog seems to have retained some of its energy, I want to build upon that energy.
And second, so much of what I have learned over the past eight months can also help you attract more clients.
By sharing my my learning experiences with ActiveRain members like you, I can help you can learn from my experience and hopefully attract more clients. This will make my good experiences of the past eight months will be even better.
In my next post, I will fill you in on what I have in mind for my reactivated blog.
Good to be back.
