WHAT THE HECK IS A D.F.E.?

I make no claim to being a marketing guru....though i think it is fun to say that.  I am one of those people who gets up in the midlle of the night because I have an idea that may or may not be great.  I believe in throwing a hundred ideas on the wall of success and seeing what sticks.

So, my simple idea is a D.F.E.

So what? ummmmmmmmmmm...

By the way, if you haven't seen my profile...I am the business development partner for the Pickering Group, lending in all 50 states (BEWARE OF OFFICIAL PLUG).  I am also the Video Email Guy.

D.F.E does not stand for something obscene or some reference to some other F word like Fudge.

D.F.E. = Daily Focus Efforts

I have found that I can make my day more fulfilling, more gratifying by adding to my calendar one Daily Focus Effort for each day.  I am sure there are a list of things you would like to accomplish like....GET MORE BUSINESS.  But that is too generic.  Everyone has that goal.

A D.F.E. can be a list of all of the strategis and ideas you have to to build your business....I do this as part of my work for our Realtor clients.  My D.F.E.'s include Past Client Annual Reviews, Home Buyers Marketing Training for my Realtors, Real Estate Office Pop-ins, etc.

Maybe my saying should be: "One D.F.E. a day keeps the J.O.B. away!".

Make each day about just one focus area about your business...not a scattering of just basic "get more business" or I'm going to make a bunch of calls.  Write your goals down....write your D.F.E.'s down...commit to doing them.  One a day makes it easier.  it doesn't mean you don't do your other business things, but when you make up in the morning and it is Annual Review Day...guess what your focus should eb when you're not with current clients....either on the phone with past clients or in person if you have already booked these AR's.

By the way, the day you do that D.F.E. will roll into the same day next month and so on.  Get rid of the stuff that isn't working.  My perosnal opinion....you can get a gretaer return on the things that cost you NOTHING than you can form some paid advertisement.  See more people...kiss more hands...shake more babies!!  (do not try this at home)

My best analogy of the D.F.E. is buying a plane ticket.  How many times have you bought a plane ticket and decided....I decided not to go.  Usually, barring unforeseen circumstances, you will be at the airport...luggage packed...and ready to go wherever it is the plane takes you.  Put the D.F.E. on your calendar...book that trip to success....do it one idea at a time and one day at a time.  God Bless America!   www.pickeringgroup.com

I think this will stick in my head: "A D.F.E.  a day keeps the J.O.B. away".  So true, but we need to redirect ourselves once in a while when we get off track.  Thanks for the advice.
