With another bad season of pilots and sitcoms to look forward to as an alternative I think we can use a break from the garbage that keeps getting pumped into our homes by some of these folks.  I'm certain many of you can recall one or two programs in recent memory that stank so bad you could smell them through the TV screen?  I cut the cable almost a year ago and, aside from my two favorite SciFi shows, I don't miss it a bit.  In fact I've found a lot more time in my day and have become much more productive and have enjoyed more time with my family.  So, maybe we'll all get a chance to improve the quality of our lives a little more?  I hope the strike is long and drawn out.

You could be right. I rarely ever watch a series so I am with you.

I hope it's long, too.  I've got a stack of books calling my name.

As Jay Leno put it the only sitcom that won't be affected by the writers strike and may actually help is "The Caveman Show"

Since Brighthouse doesn't give cable TV with my internet connection, like Cox did, I'm freshly without cable. So far, I don't miss it. I'll have to go out for Monday night football, but that's not so bad. Any other TV show I like, which is few, can be found online or through Apple's iTunes. So, I don't know if we'll be ordering cable or satellite any time soon.

Keith.....

I only watch Star Trek and the History channel...National Geographic...and Christian channels....

That is about it...once in a while I see what is on the BIG three...and it makes me want to wretch....
