You have taken the time to put together a fabulous new website. It's proof read for misspellings, grammatical errors, and optimized with all the hot keys words so you are sure to be found by the search engines in no time. But have you optimized your site for misspelled words?

When designing a website we have to keep our audience in mind. Just because you won 2nd place in your 4th grade spelling bee (yes, that was me :) ) does not mean that your future client did. And we have to consider those that just accidentally clicked the wrong key.

I recently downloaded a free eBook, Search Engine Optimization Made Easy by Brad Callen. It is absolutely fabulous in my opinion. The book takes you step by step through the many tips and tricks you can use to create a perfectly optimized website.

One of the great free resources he mentions is GoodKeyWord.com. I have been looking for a software like this for months. It provides you with not only keyword suggestions for a specific term but also possible misspellings of the word. I'm absolutely loving it, and it's free

For instance if I type in the word notary or notary public these are a few of the suggestions I'm given:

notory, notarie, nnotary, nootary, notery, notery republic, noterepublic, public notery, notorization, and notarially.

I can now creatively (I say creatively because I will use the misspellings but I still want to present myself professionally) sprinkle these words throughout my website so that I'm found in a search.

Take the software for a test drive and I think you will find it as useful as I have.

Scott, thanks for stopping by. I see you will benefit from the misspelled words option. :)

John, I sometimes have to stop and think how to spell notary so I know others do to.

You can't even begin to imagine the number of ways people misspell quitclaim deed. :) But I have every one of those ways entered into my Web site on About, and every week I look at the stats to see all of them have been used at some point.

I initially had realtor mispelled "realator" as part of a keyword phrase for those 1st grade spellers out there. My stats never really show any traffic from it. A couple now and then, so I ended up taking it out. I guess there are better spellers out there than I thought.

It is a good idea and could capture additional traffic.

Lacey, it's my pleasure.

Krista, FREE is my middle name. ;)

Dave, you're welcome.

Anne, typing errors is why I read and re-read my posts. My brain thinks faster than I can type.
