I just want to let everyone know that I have started a new group (called Artsy-Fartsy) for those of us who may want to share their talents and creativity with each other. I have already seen some samples of work by very talented people in this community, and want to give everyone a chance to display and discuss whatever creative outlet they have.

So whether it is drawing or stained glass, wood work or quilting, writing or music, if you can display it for us to see or hear (don't know how that would work), we would love to see it.

After all, real estate may be what we do, but there is a lot more than that which makes us who we are!

Drawing of Julia RobertsThis is a drawing that I did a few years ago. Now let's see what you have to show!

Just keep it appropriate for all ages, please!!!

This was the first pencil portrait I ever did.  I took an online drawing course that was really intense and we worked strictly from photographs using the graph technique.  Believe it or not I couldn't really draw before this so it was such a revelation!

Your own work is beautiful!  I love the strength in the face softened by the hair - beautifully worked.

Wow, Josette! You are obviously very talented! I, too, wish there was more time for me to draw, paint, crochet- just MAKE things!

thank you for the compliments! I don't remember a time when I wasn't drawing or trying to make things. I have never used the graph technique, though some of my work would have probably been improved if I did!

I hope to see more of your work!

Beautiful work Amber - I am reading a great book " Inspirations - Meditations from the Artist's way and I may post a synopsis in this group when done... The book was a gift from a Great Artist here on AR (writer)- Jo-Anne Smith!

Have a great weekend!

Amber, so funny!  That's exactly how I feel.  I just want to make things and I don't always care what medium they are in.

I have a page or two of my art in pencil and sugar that I've done and I include this in my leave behind for the clients.  I'm a person who has a life, interests and a family and I think that helps to translate into the quality of my work as well as to make that elusive connection with people.  I do get nice commentary from it!

Josette, I have a picture I drew hanging here in my office, for a few reasons. First, I never met a creative person who didn't want to share their work. Also, the drawing often breaks the ice. People are in the office, all serious about real estate, they get looking at the picture and ask who did it, and the conversation lightens up a bit- it helps establish rapport, and that can be crucial when buyers orsellers knowthey can drive right up the road and talk to another Realtor. And finally, when I see it, it helps keep me centered. It helpsremind me that there is more to life than just trying to make a living. I tend to get carried away and nearly obsessed with work, and seeing something I am passionate about helps me keep that perspective...

Here's another one I did. just to try to keep this going and get more people involved... Please keep in mind that what I put on here is usually a photograph of the actual drawing, so the detail isn't quite as clear and there may be a glare from a flash...

As a former art teacher, let me compliment you on your drawings.  They are very good.  Something about teaching keeps you from "doing" after a while.  I gave it up for real estate.  You, however, need to continue.  One thing I do is have my office walls covered with original art instead of plaques and awards. I prefer art to that type stuff.

Thank you, Barbara. Whenever I see my "old" art teacher, I get a little lecture... She always asks if I am still drawing or "pursuing" my art, and I always say, "A little. When I get time." And so the lecture commences...

Actually, i have started collecting pictures again of people I want to draw, and expect, as business slows for the season, to spend some time doing a little more drawing. I'll display more, as I can.

 Ok

You already know about my prefence and daily sunset habit.  I have a suggestion to all Realtors... always have that camera in the car, with charged batteries.  I try to take sunset photos several times a week from the same spot.  Here is one of my favorites.  I plan on wallpapering a wall one day with them.

That is absolutely beautiful, Trey!  Here's a photo I took on a property I was showing awhile back. It may not be a sunset, but it was beautiful, nonetheless! Hope you enjoy!
