chevy chase hardware
About a year ago I discovered Chevy Chase Hardware in Lexington. I had driven by it numerous times and assumed it was like an Ace, a friendly place but not really stocked in such a way it would be worthwhile to stop. I WAS WRONG!!!
Chevy Chase Hardware, owned by Bill Edwards for 36 years and at this location for the past 12 is unique because it stocks almost everything you could ever need or want in the way of hardware.
I can usually find what I need at Lowes but it is not practical to buy what they have packaged. Lowes is all about marketing in a way to "make the most money." So Lowes now sells nails, bolts, and other small items in groups. That means when you go to buy two of something seldom can you buy only two. Your choice is a little bag or a box of something. At Chevy Chase you can still buy bulk nails. That means you can buy one nail or several pounds of nails of different varieties.
When you approach Chevy Chase Hardware on High Street you see just the front of the store which is quite narrow. However the store is surprisinglhy long and includes a much larger and wider area near the middle and back of the store. It carries a huge stock of gardening supplies, household items, plumbing supplies, paints, electrical supplies, heating supplies and other items to numerous to list.
Chevy Chase Hardware is also a great place to get keys made. They make keys that fit and work smoothly. Something that I have had a difficulty with at times at the Big Box Stores.
So the next time you are wondering where to get something unusual or special in the way of hardware be sure to visit Chevy Chase Hardware. 883 E High Street, Lexington Ky 40502
