The 90th Annual Veteran's Day Parade: This long-standing and historical Veterans Day tradition continues. Join in honoring our armed forces at the largest Veterans Day Parade in the U.S.

The West Coast Largest Veterans Day Parade, a long-standing and historical tradition, which originated in the City of Fresno by the American Legion Fresno Post 4 in 1919, is honoring the returning World War I soldiers. The 2009 Veterans Day Parade will be host this year to the 10,000 veterans and individuals participating in the parade. 26 marching bands, floats, military vehicles and military units. The Veterans Day Parade will start on Wednesday November 11, 2009.

The Fresno Veterans Day parade will start at 10:30 AM with the opening ceremonies in front of Fresno City Hall.

The Veterans Day Parade Ceremony at 11:00 AM.

Taps played at 11:11 AM commemorates the ending of World War I, Eleven 11 Month, Eleven 11 Day, and Eleven 11 Hour.

This year's Fresno Veterans Day Parade 90th Anniversary honors the United States Navy. We welcome the United States Navy men and women from across the United States who participates in this special commemoration.

Various Downtown Road Closures on Wednesday for the Veterans Day Parade

Beginning at 8:00 a.m.

Street Closures:

  • Tulare Street: from H Street to Van Ness Avenue
  • Fresno Street: from Van Ness Avenue to P Street
  • Van Ness Avenue: from Tulare Street to Fresno Street
  • H Street: from Inyo Street to Tulare Street
  • P Street: from Fresno Street to Inyo Street
  • Inyo Street: from P Street to H Street

Motorists may experience some delays in the downtown area.

When: Friday, November 11 beginning at 8 a.m. The parade is expected to conclude by 3 p.m.
