Zionsville: A Jewel in Indiana

I get a lot of questions from buyers regarding which suburb of Indianapolis is best. All of our north side communities are very different from each other and it very much depends on what you want for your family. I am partial to Zionsville, Carmel and Hendricks County.  I also like the Broadripple area, mostly because I have worked in these areas for 11 years now!

Zionsville is a quaint and wonderful little town that was founded in 1852. They have left the bones of the town in our cobblestone streets so when you are driving down main street, you somewhat feel taken back in time. Zionsville is located in Boone county and just 15 miles from downtown Indy, making it an easy commute to do things in the city.

The town of Zionsville and the rural area is now around 25,000 people from the 2010 census. The median household income is $103,750 and the median home value is $361,312. Zionsville has green space galore, offering 17 open parks and 400 acres of parkland as well as over 15 miles of pathways and trails. The trails around Zionsville are busy with bikes, runners, people walking dogs, and a great place to visit with locals!

Events in the Village start in January and go all year long with art festivals, quilt shows, street dances, taste of Zionsville, and my favorite... our local farmers market. Zionsville offers eclectic shopping and eating. There are so many types of restaurants available, including several pizza places, and ice creme shops!

Zionsville has been in the top five public school rankings for as long as I can remember and they are usually in the top three. It truly is a great educational system and a great place to raise your family.
