I am a professional home stager and I live in the Twin Cities. Sort of...
Really the only time I reply to the question "where do you live?" with the reply..."In the Twin Cities" is when I am traveling outside Minnesota but still in the United States.
When I travel outside the country, I always answer the question "Where are you from?" with "Minnesota" and if pressed for more details I usually say "Minneapolis", because for some reason Minneapolis has a bigger reputation in the World than St Paul.
When a Minnesotan asks me where I live, then I reply "St Paul".
In the metro area we can be as competitve as cross town highschool rivals playing in the homecoming football game.
To much of the world the three million people that occupy this little parcel of earth are from the Twin Cities...but those of us that live here know that these two cities are not Identical Twins....and we will shout out our cities name LOUD AND PROUD.
Sincerely,
