Docusign Walk-through

Although Docusign is fairly easy to navigate, sometimes it's just easier when you can visually see it.

When you log in you will be at your dashboard.  From this area you can create a new envelope which is what we are going to do for this!

Click the orange button that says "Start a new envelope" You will be brought to a new page.  From here you will upload your document, input everyone that will need to sign it, change the settings of the envelope, and you have the ability to customize a message for each person.  For this exercise I will be using my email to send it to my client "BECKY" who has Power of Attorney over someone.  You can also order the people you are sending the envelope to.  For example if you have 2 people that you want to receive a copy once it is completed you can mark you and your client as 1 and mark the two receiving copies as 2.

Click the Orange Next button at the bottom of the page.

The picture below shows your email and document. #1 is your address bar.  #2 is the drop down menu where you can change which person is doing the signing.

Drag the signature box to the line that says "SELLER" (or buyer whichever you are working with).

Because this client is a power of attorney, as the agent I am going to require myself to sign a "data field".  In the Data Field I can type in POA. You can have the client do this.

Click the Orange Send Button.

A box will pop up asking if you would like to preview it first.  You can choose preview or send anyway.

Now! How do you see if your client has viewed or signed it?  Well after you sign your portion it will re-route you back to your inbox.  On the far right hand side you can click a drop down which has several options one of which being History.  Click history.  This will show you a complete history of who has signed and when.  You can also print out a certificate.

Once the document has been signed by all parties, you will be able to find it in the "Completed" folder of your inbox and be able to download or print it from there.

Docusign has MANY more uses and this is a brief walk through that does not cover 1/8 of what it can do.  They have walk throughs for using docusign at their website.

**Disclaimer - I am not being paid to write this.  I am writing this because Docusign was the best product I have spent money on as a Real Estate Agent!**

WOW what did we do before Docusign?    I have been using Docusign for two years and with out of town clients it is so helpful!  In our area so many people work shift work that it is hard to sit down and meet face to face, when I need documents signed I use Docusign and my clients can respond from their cell phone, its wonderful! Although there are certain banks that will not allow electronic signatures :(

At first I did not like the new design, Docusign recently made changes and it took me forever to learn how to navigate the new site!
