This post is to welcome a few Newbies to the rain. I have chosen Sheryl Tips, Helen Reed, and Tom Allabastro to highlight and welcome. There is no real rhyme or reason why I chose these individuals since I spent a bunch of time looking at blogs and profiles of new members and it seemed every one I looked at did not qualify as a Newbie according to the http://activerain.com/blogsview/2562498/new-contest-for-introducing-and-recognizing-newbies-in-active-rain. There is currently no mechanism in ActiveRain to facilitate introducing new members or sending a welcome to them so this idea Jerry had is a great way to get more experienced members to welcome a few of our newbies.
None of these individuals has been active in the rain for very long and they have not posted many blog entries. That is a good reason to welcome them and try to encourage them to get blogging in the Rain.
Sheryl Tips is a Mortgage professional in Toronto.
Brian Allabastro is a Realtor® in Stuart Florida.
Helen Reed is a Realtor® in Jackson MS.
Please welcome these ActiveRain Newbies and make them feel like a part of out fantasticabule community.
There is one very important tip that I would like to pass on the my three selected newbies that will help them in their ActiveRain experience. Add lots and lots of information, including photos to your ActiveRain profile. Other members and the public will see what you have written and will use that information to evaluate you and your services. While in there updating be sure to add a signature that will appear at the end of each of your blog posts and be sure to review the settings page and update your information there including the check Boxes at the bottom of the page. There are lots of blogs and posts that will help give you as much information as you need to help you get to be a great blogger. Just log in and read and become involved in this great community.
So to any ActiveRain members out there, please send a welcome comment or email or other message to these newbies and let's see if we can get them to be active and contributing members of the ActiveRain community. I dare you!
Have a great day

Al, Great Idea - before we could not see their photos and knew they were SPAM or NEWBIES! I wish they had a badge until they had - say 10,000 - points so we could encourage them!
We all started off where they are..... I have been on Activerain for some time now and still feel that I don't really have the hang of all there is to offer.
Maybe in your next blog you should ask the members to share something they learned on activerain that they feel is important to know. Learning all that the site has to offer is overwhelming. Just an idea...
Thank you for including me on your list of Newbies. It has been two weeks now since I have joined the active rain community. I have found a wealth of information within the community. I am looking forward to the support and education of the community to prosper in the coming year.
Thanks for stopping by my blog to read and comment Today Barbara, Wallace, JodiAnn and Brian, I appreciate your support and comments. Barbara, yes, Jerry came up with a winner with this one. Wallace, Great idea, there really should be a better way to find and welcome new members. JodiAnn, you are correct, many of us are still finding out things about ActiveRain but we just keep on blogging and learn as we go. Brian, hopefully some members will see you in this post and go comment on your blog posts and give you some encouragement. So go get your blogging hat on and post something.
Hi Al, Thanks for participating in this month's Newbie Challenge. I can't wait to go over and Welcome all Three of your Choices today. You have given them some great tips and advice. Updating their profile page and signature block in AR would be a huge plus for these Newbies.
We are half way through this Challenge, and I have read some excellent posts, featuring our newest members.
Al, great advice. I am bookmarking this one. I sure wish I had had some more advice. Although, I had great support from you, Suzanne, Jill and a whole bunch of other people.
☂Al~ thanks for introducing Sheryl, Brian, and Helen to us! What a kind gesture to help get them active in the Rain! I'm heading over to say hi... Hope you're enjoying a lovely week-end!
