In Austin, your money will go far.  Simply put, the Austin real estate market offers a lot of bang for the buck.  As part of my continuing series of posts, this week I am exploring currently available homes in the $750,000 - $800,000 ballpark.  If you see anything of interest, please don't hesitate to call me at 512-796-7653 (cell) or email jason@austintexashomes.com

This first home is located close to Lake Travis, and it affords a distant lake view.  With almost 5,000 square feet of luxury living, this property has 5 bedrooms and 4.5 bathrooms, and it was built in 2002 by Toll Brothers.  It features a spacious gourmet kitchen with a huge island and a wine refrigerator, master suite with a nice sitting area, and a covered patio with a built-in grill.  All of this for $775,000!

Next, this 4495 s.f. 3-story home offers Panoramic Lake Travis views on a 1 acre lot, along with custom high-end finishes throughout, wood doors, and 100-year old beams and reclaimed Chicago brick.  Additionally, it has granite counters & wood trim throughout, poker room w/bar, gameroom, playroom, and a large office with a built-in credenza.  Offered at $775,000.

austin real estateAs a change of pace, I decided this week to include a historic home in nearby Bastrop (about 40 minutes from downtown Austin).  This nicely renovated Victorian mansion (over 6000 s.f.) was built in 1888 and it is located on prestigious street.  It has an exceptional master suite with a luxurious master bathroom.  Manicured grounds!  It is listed in the national and Texas historic registry.  2 guest houses, heated pool.  Only $795,000.

If you are looking to make a move to Austin or if you are interested in purchasing an investment property (or more than one), please call or email me and I will be happy to help.  I can be reached at 512-796-7653 (cell) or at jason@austintexashomes.com.  I look forward to helping you with any and all Austin real estate needs.

JASON:  Incredible homes with incredible views.  You definitely get a lot for your money in Austin.  The double stairways on the top one look like the entrance into a catering hall.

ADAM - Maybe they could use that home as a catering hall.  We used a home with the exact same floorplan to do a marketing photo shoot for our team once.  Hope you had a good day.  Talk to you soon!

LISA - I knew that one would appeal to a certain segment (me included).  Although I have never lived in a Victorian home, I find them incredibly interesting and appealing.  I know that you have lots of these in certain areas of New Orleans, right?

Jason, we have several areas in the city that have houses that are over 75 years old and in some cases over 100 years old.  I've seen some stunning renovations of historic properties that have brought them up to date while keeping so much of the original charm.  Original architectural details are in high demand in certain neighborhoods here and people are willing to pay for them, too.

LISA - What would something like the home above go for in New Orleans?  I am curious.

This was the closest thing I could find Jason.  St. Charles Avenue, 6/4.5, 7300 sf living, 100+ years old for the bargain price of only $1,550,000.  (It does have an apartment for rental income, though!)

We don't really have historic homes on large lots except for on St. Charles Avenue.  Most of our historic property consists of shotgun style construction with narrow lots and very little off street parking.

Amazing what a difference in markets throughout the country, huh?

Jason, I was right when I told you that your $800,000 homes would eat our $800,000 and swallow them whole.  Nice selection of homes.

How beautiful!  I've always liked the idea of Austin, probably because of the music scene.  Haven't had a chance to visit, yet.  Those prices here will get you a starter cabin!
