Buyers seeking a new Carlsbad home near the beach may be interested in the Tamarack Beach Lofts, currently under construction on Tamarack Avenue, about ½ mile from the Carlsbad beaches.

These contemporary lofts with lots of glass offer unique architectural styling and sophisticated living quarters with ocean views in this coastal town with an eye for modern loft living, yet in a seaside residential area close to Tamarack Surf Beach (walking distance).

Tamarack Beach LoftsResidents can enjoy the beautiful beaches nearby for surfing, sunbathing, dining al fresco or simply taking a walk, or head into Carlsbad Village for dinner and shopping. The Tamarack Beach Loftsare also fairly close to the 5 freeway providing easy access to downtown San Diego or Los Angeles. There are also two train stations in Carlsbad (one in the village) if you prefer to commute between Oceanside and San Diego on the Coaster.

Carlsbad Village is less than 3 miles away, offering a host of shopping (both casual and upscale), a myriad of restaurants (Le Passage, a French bistro in the heart of town on State Street, is my favorite, but Fish House Vera Cruz on Carlsbad Village Drive is the ult for good, basic fresh seafood) and other things to do.

Children in the area attend the Carlsbad Schools.

Tamarack Beach Lofts are 4 attached 3-story town homes with 2-car private garages with walls of glass. Each home offers 3 bedrooms and 3 baths and a host of amenities that you would expect in homes of this caliber - stainless steel, granite, high quality stone and more. There is about 2100 SF of living and entertaining space and, of course, the views.

Priced from $1,075,000 to $1,125,000, these 4 Carlsbad homes will be ready for occupancy in late November or December 2007. Residents pay $100 for HOA fees.

This is a unique opportunity to own a Carlsbad new construction home this close to the beach with unique styling that takes advantage of the light and views, yet offers the contemporary styline and amenities of the 21st century. Make one of the Tamarack Beach Lofts your next home by the sea.

Thanks, Irina. They ARE very cool looking. They are not yet letting people in to view them but I am anxious to see them. I can think of a couple of folks that might be interested.

Jeff,

Great post - very thorough and informative. A little out of my price range but I love the location.

Jeff - Did I read that right?  ONly $100 a month for HOA?  That's extraordinary for condos of any price.

Candace - Thanks. Guess I like the bright colors, and I toned this down a bit. Catches the eye, doesn't it? I have not been inside yet so I cannot comment on the actual views, but the listings state there is a view, and they are very close to the ocean. Nice area.

Linda - yeah, me too. I get mesmerized by the ocean and turn into a blob. It's a great feeling, but not good if there is work to be done.

Thanks, Mike. Yep, more than I want to spend for a home that size, but they are very cool looking and the area is terrific. This is a good price for this size property this close to the ocean

Marlene - yep, it's a pretty good HOA fee. Doesn't include alot but so many of them don't anyhow. They certainly don't have to set anything aside for maintenance or repairs given everything is new.

Jeff,

Anyone with the capital to buy one of them now will cash in a bundle down the road. There's onlu one Del Mar and one Pacific Ocean. I'll have to preview these.

Jeff,

I wrote an offer on one of these with a client a few months ago. Unfortunately, the client was completely unrealistic and fishing for a great deal....after her 3rd offer like that I decided she was not only wasting her time, but mine. You can fish on fixers, but not desirable & unique properties like these townhomes, especially when they're not even finished!

Thanks, Adam. Sorry it did not work out but buyers need to be realistic when it comes to property near the ocean that is new construction.
