Pat, they don't make great monuments like this anymore. Great photo and tribute to a great man.
Howdy and evening Patricia

Hi Pat - This is really a great photo of a very impressive statue. He looks very heroic, and your framing of this photo is gorgeous.
Thanks for you comments! I took this yesterday and was lucky enough to have a cealr blue sky and really colorful leaves.
Cool statue, Pat! One could spend hours absorbing the intricate details.
Great photo of Logan astride his horse with that colorful foliage int the background and that blue sky.
Pat, I love those statues. It always makes me want to grab a book or Google the character and see what he did. Which I will be doing right after this comment. 8-) Thanks for the great photo!!
Hi Patricia,
I am from Tennessee. Great men came from my state. Thanks for the article. I love to hear about our history. When I went to Washington DC and Virginia, I loved all the historical sites and the names of the streets and freeways were all right out of our history books.
With this being the 150th anniversary of the Civil War, this commemoration seems very fitting.
Pat, That is such a cool statue. I love all of the intricate details. It is so nice to have history remind us of where we came and how we got here.
Thanks for sharing the interesting history and your photograph.
Enjoy the season of Thanksgiving and be sure to have your camera in hand to capture those special moments.

When a general appears on a horse, it means he was in battle. Do you know what it means when one leg is lifted? Or two?
So much history in such a fantastic city! I love DC and love all of your posts about the city!!!
Such awesome artistry Patricia! I 'get' this much better than some of the One Percent for Art that we see with the newer buildings in our area. Some of it looks like a kiddos Mothers Day kindergarten project while others are quite nice.
