Holiday Gift Gallery by the Humboldt County, California, Woodworking Society
The Third Annual Holiday Gift Gallery, presented by the Humboldt Woodworking Society opens with an auction of fine woodworking items at Almquist Lumber Company on Sunday, November 13 (1 - 4:30 pm) and runs through New Year’s Day.
The objective of this event is to provide an educational experience for woodworkers, particularly novices, in the marketing and sale of their works, and to provide education to the public about woodworking techniques, the properties of wood, and the benefits of using wood, especially locally grown and sustainably harvested wood, for making beautiful, useful and durable objects.
The public will have the opportunity to buy locally produced wood furniture, bowls, toys, birdhouses, spoons, clocks, sculpture, games, puzzles, boxes, and many other items and learn about how they are made.
This is an excellent event to start your holiday shopping at!

Hi Dan,
Wood working is almost a lost art. There are still a few that have mastered the craft, for these we are thankful.
I like the toy trains that have the alphabet in them. I bought a set with my sons name spelled out back thirty years ago.
Thanks for sharing.
Best, Clint McKie
Good Morning Clint, you would enjoy both the 'Gift Gallery' and Almquist Lumber. Almquist is a specialty store that is a wood workers delight.
Dan,
This will make wonderful Christmas gifts as they are unique. Great localism blog.
Dan, it's great to understand the depth of your community involvement. You really know what's going on locally, where, and when. It's such a great asset for a real estate agent and shows your dedication. Thanks for the great information!
Dan,
I like wood furniture and hand made furniture sounds fantastic to me. I am positive there will be several unique pieces of furniture for sale. Just listening to the craftsmen would be very interesting.
