What's that? Optimize my website to use on a mobile device? Why would I do that?
Easy, in today's mobile device world, if perspective clients can't read your blog on their iPad, iPone or other mobile device, then you're missing a great deal of opportunity! This post is not designed to give you all the information you will need to optimize your blog. We did our own site using a good plugin but some may need help for their web designer.
Anyway I had stopped by a tech support group on Facebook and happened in on a discusssion and in a few minutes, I had learned that a plugin called WPtouch Pro would do everything I needed to have my site ready for most all smart devices and the install and config was easy. If you're not capable, the person who does the work for you can most likely do this in about an hour or two at most.
WPtouch Pro costs 39.00 (do not use the free version) and the install is very easy. It can be found here.
So after some settings are completed, what I had was a nifty mobile device website that was easy to view, navigage and passed the tests.
Tests??
Yes, what ever optimization you do must work properly and have certain elements in place and be fast loading or guess what, you will still lose the. So the post also had a website to test your installation. It is located at http://howtogomo.com/. The test is very easy to run and will score your site for speed and effectiveness.
So that done you're all set right?
Almost. Be sure your IDX search provider is Mobile Optimized as well. Diverse Solutions is my vendor and their IDX Search Agent auto senses when a mobile device is present and converts to a nifty optimized screen as shown below.
So now you're done! For more information, check out the original article by Jeremy Blanton and also check out my Blog Post too and check out my site at www.talkingrealestatepalmsprings.com on your mobile device and let me know what you think!
