This afternoon, Dick and I agreed to spend time cleaning up stuff like out disgusting refrigerator and the cat dust bunnies littering the floors.  But it didn't happen.

The sky was a gorgeous blue, the weather was balmy, and the leaves were calling out - this might be the last fabulous photo opp before they were all on the ground.   So we forgot the kitchen and cat hair, grabbed the camera, hopped into the roadster and headed out for Great Falls, Virginia.

Great Falls State Park sits above the Potomac River at one of it's wildest parts.  The water swirls around the rocks and this time of year, it's fringed with fiery looking leaves.

So here is what we found:

This is a little creek that flows through the park.

The little red dot to the left in the picture below is a crazy lunatic carrying a kayak.  It's call a death wish!  Yikes!

 We can always clean tomorrow!

Hi Pat - Beautiful photos, as usual.  That looks like a great place to spend a day, and I love the lighting that makes the trees look as if they ar elit from inside - especially in the "death wish" photo.

Pat

You made the right decision cleaning can wait until next week and you took advantage of a great fall day.

Good luck and success.

You so made the right choice!  Hold off cleaning until we get more daylight, you don't want to waste a moment right now.  Beautiful pics.

Hi Pat--with scenery like that I would put off cleaning for at least a few more days.  Your photography is just amazing.  Don't clean--post most photos for those of us who don't have fall to remember.

So Patricia, if you had stayed home, would we be looking at moldy foods and cat hair in this post. I am grateful that you decided to go out into the beautiful surroundings to take some photos instead.

We ALL need time off for rest and relaxation. This certainly looks like a fabulous place for just that!

I am pretty sure that crazy lunatic carrying the kayak would think you just as crazy for NOT carrying a kayak!

But that is just me.

Wow those are beautiful pictures.  Your colors are still so great out there.  Our trees are naked now and look very sad and forlorn.  No leaves till Spring.  Bummer!
