Lorraine - why yes, yes it did.
Gene - it's all about the relationship.
Hi Alan, Well, you cut him more slack than I would have. AR is great because of the agents here - not because it is a great contact list.
Credit for trying? Yes. Annoying and a little too much? Also a yes. AR is about building relationships, sharing and learning. I send referrals based on that, not on an email or a private message. Good stuff man.
maybe he will read this and get a clue ;)
Has the Asian women who loves you and has to have you and wants to end her loneliness with you and you only contacted anyone else besides me? When I ignored this, a Russian women madly in love with me came forward
Bill - I'm a 'slack-cutter' from way back.
Christiansen Team - yes, and yes.
Ashley - highly doubtful.
Richie - I think you just have animal magnetism that attracts those exotic women.
Here, Here Alan.
I have been fortunate enough to receive a referral or two from 'My other blog Platform, and realy do appreciate it when it is from people that have left a comment, etc. It really makes you feel appreciated. And I have been fortunate enough
For example, if I needed an agent in Evanston, IL., I might ask you of you knew any good ones up that way :)
You are correct though, the faces I see consistently, whose opinions/posts are thoughtfully composed will be the first calls I make.
John - a random, "out of the blue" never-made-a-comment-on-my-blog request for a referral isn't going to get much in the way of consideration from me. Especially when he's got no history on his blog, for me to check.
OMGoodness. Have gotten some website emails but nothing along this line yet.
Not a good lead generation tool unless I already know who you are and have read your blogs.
I hope you have enlightened him on the proper use of ActiveRain.
Faye - just wait... they're coming.
Kathy - I sent him a private note, but I doubt it'll have any effect.
Alan,
Great blog and I totally agree with what you said. His action is gutsy but inappropraite in my opinion.
Alan - Definitely not the way it's supposed to work in the Rain. Hopefully he'll learn. It was nice of you not to blast him.
Alan, people who do this plainly do not GET Active Rain or its members. That is so anti what we represent and who we are.
Sharon
Hi Alan, with 206k members here on AR, its not surprising. I wouldn't think they'd stick around long, knowing that approach won't earn them much favor.
Robert - totally.
Christine - he'll either figure it out, or disappear into the ozone.
Sharon - indeed... but he's new... maybe he'll still figure it out.
Michael - I wouldn't think so, either.
How embarrassing that someone from the Colorado Springs area would do that. At least he was smart enough to not send SPAM to those of us in Colorado Springs.
I agree with you. I hate it when Active Rain is used as a mailing list for SPAM.
Sondra - you only have to be embarrased if he's related to you.
I wonder how you feel about Realtor.com contacting us and selling our e-mails to all these companies that solicit our business. When I recieve spam or something I don't like I hit delete. Although what he did didn't work with you it probably did with a lot of others so he was playing the numbers as we all do.
Look at what he did for you, a feature all these comments, I would thank him and delete the e-mail or tell A/R to give him these points so he will have a better data bank LMAO in Pcola
Charles - I'm unaware that they sell our emails to any companies... but don't love Realtor.com contacting us, nor anybody else, for that matter. And "he" didn't do anything for me... it's just ME turning lemons into lemonade.
