Mark Bellissimo Filed Suit Against The Village Of Wellington

Mark Bellissimo filed a law suit against the Village of Wellington. The complaint is that Stadium Jumping received preferential treatment from the Village of Wellington in approving Stadium Jumpings's move to the Wellington Preserve.

This is because it only took Stadium Jumping four months to get the approval to move and yet it took over a year to get Mark Bellissimo's project approved and Bellissimo had to go through the state for approvals first and Stadium Jumping didn't. Now why would this even be an issue for Bellissimo who is now the new owner of Palm Beach Equestrian Club and also the new owner of the Polo Stadium?

Well, it is because he just became Stadium Jumpings' new landlord and their lease is up in 2009 and they want to move. Bellissimo states in his complaint that the Village's approval of Stadium Jumping's move has caused his property value to go down. There are neighbors who are also upset about the move because many people depend on the money they make by renting out stalls and grooms' quarters in hacking distance to the show grounds. Being in hacking distance increased demand for your property and increases the value of your property.

So now these two warring clans who announced that they are close to an agreement to end the craziness has resulted in getting tax payers money involved because the Village of Wellington will have to pay legal fees, etc at our expense. When will it ever end?

Katerina, you know that the "approval" was political. You posted about it at the time. I think this lawsuit should have been anticipated by the council when they acted (some might say hastily).

Bill- And Mark Bellissimo does not want any money in the suit. He only wants the decision by the Village to be undone. He has bought all the land and now that he is the landlord the board of directors from Stadium Jumping want to move off of Bellissimo's land. He is saying it is not fair. They had originally been all working together as a partnership but something happened and they started fighting. The consumers love to read about Mark Bellissimo and Stadium Jumping, some of my most searched keywords in google. Katerina

That is awful.  It is a shame that greed plays a big part in many things these days.
