Here is my suggestion - write a Victories Recap.

I promised myself to celebrate victories, even if they come in small packages. The successes could be small, but they did not come my way easy. That’s why I give myself a gift – writing about them.

 Celebrate Success

I am #1 on Goggle for “Princeton Real Estate Blog”. Hopefully it will turn into business as consumers find out about what’s in it for them in blogs.

I had a closing last week. This deal gave me more stress then any before, and at times I wished it would just go away. Forget the stress, I am focusing on the positive. I have money in the bank, YAY! I learned more lessons from this transaction then all the others combined. Real learning does not come easy or cheap. There will be many things I will do differently now. My life will be better – that’s not small, is it?

This post will mark my 30,000 points. Everyone with a million points please contain your laughter. As many things in my life I had to really work for them. Yes, it’s not about points, but it is. It means a lot to me, no matter how few I have, because I worked hard. I’ll celebrate that.

I crossed the 1,000 comments line. To people with 100 comments on each of their posts, I understand, it’s not a big deal. And yes, we are not writing to get comments. In my book – comments are really BIG. 1020 times some one, who could have been doing something else, chose to respond to me, to my thoughts, my worries, my stories. This is truly priceless. I know first hand of the people I was able to touch – this AR thing has turned into something I never expected. I count it as total profit.

Small victories can add up.  Do your want a gift? Write your own Victories Recap – I’ll come to cheer. I am sure AR Gods will send the 200 points Celebrate Success congratulations (I don't mean additional 200).

Great post.  Makes me think back about the small victories.  Also made me do a google search and see what came up in my area for a real estate blog.  I am just getting started.  Maybe this is the weekend to write a blog for localism and my web page.

Maybe you might think I have a million points but I am with  you, really doesn't matter!  I must congratulate you on getting what you have already got.  It takes a ton of patience and persistence to keep this up.  I love your posts, keep it up and soon you will have a million too!

Renee - when I have a million, everyone is invited to a party. I need to focus on Localism stuff, my other non-existing blog, but these other posts just come in out of their turn. I promise, next week I'll be a good Localism girl. Thanks for the congrats - coming from you it means a lot.

Great reminder...I, like most people, let the little victories slip past usually without mention. I'm glad you reminded us to celebrate them...for the days we need something to make us feel good about ourselves.

Faina-  congratulations!  You have accomplished a LOT!  It is so important, I think, to stop and regularly take stock of where we've been, what we've accomplished, and where we are going.  It's important to recognize and appreciate when we're making progress!  Nice job  :)

Faina, congratulations on all of your success and your victories.  Everyone has different concepts of success.  When you achieve or surpass your goals, that is success!  I want to be invited to that million point party.

Lynette -we have to make our own party. If no one knows my birthday, how can they wish me "happy bithday". I try to think every day all the reasons I have to celebrate. Thanks for the comment.

Sandi - I know it's small stuff compared to the big things in the world or even to what others are doing on AR. But it was good to wake up with these thoughts and to hear from my AR friends. Often when I thought I knew exactly where I was going, life took me in a different direction (hint: 4 kids). Thanks for the congrats.

Jeff and Grace - thank, I will try, if you promise to come back and read it. lol

John - thanks for the compliment. Just to clarify - the closing was totally unrelated to AR. The business from AR part did not happen yet. Honestly, AR was more fun then the money making things. Of course, I need that too.

Kimberly - I did not realize it was a good week, until I noticed the 30k milestone, than the other things also came into focus. I would like to know about your victories as well.

Brian - I know in the big scheme of things this is all small potatoes. When I started here the only goal I had was to be #1 in Princeton. I did not know what other goals I could have. I am usually careful with setting goals: I set those that are in my control to achieve.

You are invited to the party, put it on your calendar for next month. I figure, it should not take longer then that, right?

Faina-  What a way you have with words.....the way you described your accomplishments here entertained me......not that that is so hard to do:)

you stated: "we are not writing to get comments. In my book - comments are really BIG. 1020 times some one, who could have been doing something else, chose to respond to me, to my thoughts, my worries, my stories. This is truly priceless"

I had never thought of it like that....  You show over and over what kind of person you are.......and I will celebrate with you any day of the week!

I agree this is a Perfect Fit for the Postive Attitudes Group....now write something for the contest.....

Hi Faina - I don't hear anyone laughing....   I remember when I made it to my first 10,000, and then 20,000, and so on.  It takes time and effort to get where you are, and with the way you're going with your posts and all those comments you share around AR, you'll be moving right on to the next milestone!

FAINA:  This sounds a lot like what Buffini recommends.  He talks about winning the day, and then trying to win the week, and so on and so forth.  It makes sense to celebrate small victories on the path to larger ones.

Kathy - you make me speechless. You are so generous with praise, you make me feel special ans appreciated. This is VERY BIG in my book. That's why I come here -to be with people like you. Thanks, friend.

For the contest, I will try, but I have to wait for inspiration. That's just how I write. Not very efficient, I know.

Ann - you are someone I am trying to learn from. Almost 200k -that kind of race takes real endurance. i do comment a lot, because it not only provides validation to the writer, it makes the discussion more interesting, elevates the level of discourse and could make this a platform an interesting place to be for us and consumers.

Hello Faina,
I agree points is not my ultimate goal but they do represent my hard work and the generosity of my AR friends with their comments.  Each comment is like a brief visit with that member and I treasure each and every one.

Three cheers for Faina!

Faina,      Congratulations!!!!You are way ahead of me but I feel very successful too everytime someone comments on my writing.  You never know how people will respond and if I get several that don't draw comments especially localism blogs I start to wonder if I should keep going or not.  You are a great writer and I enjoy your posts.

Mellisa - big thanks for the cheer.

Terry - I have to admit, the 30k was not easy. I write long pots. When I write about market conditions it takes me hours to do Excel spreadsheets, just so I can write a few paragraphs about the market. I don't copy the MLS reports, it's easy, you get the same 200 points, but to me it's not interesting reading. I think "why would it be interesting to anyone else?". That's the hard way to 30k.

Congratulations.  To have received 1000 comments as you pass the 30,000 point level is a big deal.  I don't have 1000 comments on the in side yet, and I have almost 70,000 points.  I've made well over 1000 comments, but that is a different story.

So, enjoy.

Rickie -been there, done that. Whenever it happens that you start wondering, just let me know, you can cry on my shoulder. I never understood about writers being all stressed out about what their readers think. I understand now.

I know all about not writing for comments. But I would to be a robot and a lier if I said I did not care about comments.

Comments give us validation, that we are not just talking to ourselves and that there are people out their who found our voice, even if they didn't like what we have to say.

Thanks Faina,    You know how it feels.  You sit down to write and you have something that is pushing you to put it on paper and then that little voice in your head says "Wait, what if they don't like this and you get bad comments or NO comments?"  Suddenly your fingers stop typing and your mind is going in different directions and when it's all over, the piece is not what it started out to be. This is me more often than I'd like it to be.
