Senior Volleyball is Alive and Well in Austin Texas! 
Today is the day that I play 2 hours of Senior Volleyball with a mixed group of men and women. We aren't talking sponge ball but hard hitting in your face (if you can still jump) volleyball. These Seniors mean business.
I'm proud to say that I can hold my own with a group that runs from age 49 to 78! You heard right - those over 70 still kicking butt...throwing themselves to the floor to keep a ball alive, running into a teammate so as to make a save or just simply playing a ball perfectly for a point.
You're never too old to begin an exercise program. You might not wish to begin playing with the hardcore volleyball group but you can get out and walk yourself into shape.
Check us out at the South Austin Rec Center on Cumberland St. every Monday and Wednesday from 1-3 pm. And don't forget your water bottle! You got to stay hydrated to stay strong.
