1-800-GOT-JUNK? provides junk removal to San Diego (and the rest of the US, Canada and Australia).  The most common question I get is "How does your pricing work?"  

We believe in providing up-front rates with no hidden fees and making it as simple as possible for people. The rates we provide are your final price:  there are no additional fees for labor, dumping, recycling taxes, climbing stairs, etc.  As San Diego's full service junk removal company, we do all the work.  It doesn't matter if the junk is in the backyard, up stairs, or on the 25th floor of your office building.  Our friendly, uniformed drivers go get it no matter where it is and you won't pay anything additional.  

We service both residential and commercial clients.

We are approved by the state of California to pick up e-waste which includes items such as computer equipment, TV's and almost any other kind of electronics.

Our rates are based on the volume your junk takes up in our truck, measured by 1/8s and 1/6ths (for example we have rates for 1/8 of a truck, 1/6, 1/4, 1/3, 3/8 etc. etc.).  We've added a nifty tool to our website to help you understand how much junk our trucks can hold and how much junk you need to get rid of. 

When you set up an appointment for junk removal in San Diego, our truck teams will arrive in a 2 hour promise window.  Once we are on-site you show them the junk that needs to be removed and they will be able to provide a firm idea of how much volume it will take in our truck.  Then our truck teams do all the loading, cleanup and even sweep.  As much as possible, we will also donate and recycle your items to minimize the impact on our environment.

We have also taken feedback from customers and now have standard prices for common single items.  So if you have something like a couch or fridge, you can call us or book online   and know exactly what it will cost to have the item removed.

To be more specific, the cost ranges from $100 to $500, depending on how much of the truck you fill.  Their website will not tell you this, and even if you call them on the phone they will not tell you the cost.  You only get a price once they come out to your home or business and estimate how much of a truck you will need.  Obviously their is no reason they couldn't give you the price range ahead of time, but I suspect their business model depends on people being desperate enough that at the moment they find out moving their sofa will cost $150 that they'll just go ahead and do it.

Actually, the price is always confirmed with the client BEFORE any loading begins. We are happy to give free estimates so their is no "sticker shock". Our prices include that anything we pickup does not have to be relocated to a certain location for our crews to pickup and we clean up the area once it is empty. All items are disposed of legally per the state of California regulations.

There pricing IS on the website....


not all areas charge the same amout... in order to get the pricing for your area.. you just go to and enter your zip code down in the part where it says "check price and pick up times".. then you select a time for the pick up... you dont even have to have a pick up .. just select any time cuz then it brings you to the pricing page and where you see "price estimator" you just scroll throw the pricing chart or the volumes to see how much each volume costs.....

They may tell you WHAT they'll take on the website but NOT HOW MUCH IT WILL COST. Not unless you book an appointmet so they can come and strong-arm you in person. [They just don't want you doing any of that comparison shopping stuff.]

I plan on having them out to my place, getting the (written) estimate [yeah, good luck with that!), then telling them thanks but no thanks, goodbye and have a nice day..

There are just way too many other junk haulers out there to screw around with these . . . individuals.

You may want to complete an appointment as quickly as possible or dive into history, current events and other information before attempting to make an appointment to ensure this is the company for you. Your are correct when you state that the web site lists the items we take, however you are mistaken when you state that you have to complete booking a job to see the rates. You do have to start booking a job to be presented with prices due to the fact that different regions of the U.S. and two other countries have different rates depending on your local region. You have to remember that 1-800-GOT-JUNK? is the WORLDs Largest Junk Removal Service. For example, when you type in your zip code you will be presented with prices for your area. You are also mistaken when you state that you have to complete the job once you have started. You can stop any time without making an appointment. Many times the customer will over or under estimate what they have while booking. When the trained truck team arrives within their 2 hour window, with a clean shinny truck and clean uniforms they will give the customer an estimate once they have confirmed the amount of items the customer wants taken away. No obligation to do the job. No one does it better than we do.
