PatriotsThere comes a time in our lives when we get to witness history in the making and Sunday will be just that time. The New England Patriots will take on the defending Super Bowl ChampionColts logo Indianapolis Colts.

Both teams come into this game undefeated, New England is 8-0 and Indy is 7-0. Much of the talk lately even around here is that New England has been running up the score against the teams they have defeated. What a joke you have got to be kidding me. Is this sandlot football we're talking about? NO, this is the NFL and should the offense just lay down and quit? NO, The offense shouldn't have to stop the offense. The defense should stop the offense.

All I have heard this morning is that this game is billed "Good" vs "Evil". Indy being good Patriots being evil. I guess spy-gate has had it's toll on NE and I think Ne is trying to make a statement to the rest of the league. The`Pats have bolstered their team by a great margin and it has shown. This is the first time in their history they have gone 8-0. Indy has gone 7-0 the last 3 years.

Some key match-ups to look for today will be Peyton Manning throwing to Dallas Clark. Clark along with Peyton killed the Pats in the AFC championship game late in that game last year. Also, look for the Pats defense to try and contain Joseph Addai and if they can do that then look for Manning to open things up to wide receiver Reggie Wayne. Marvin Harrison is on the mend and he has always been a deep threat. I wonder if his knee will be strong enough for him to make the cuts he needs to get away from the Pats defenders.

The Pats will look to run the ball with Laurence Maroney and if that stalls then Brady will air it out. Look for his key receivers to be all over the place as he will be throwing to a multitude of receivers. Brady's key will be Wes Welker and Randy Moss. I figure they will double team Moss and that will leave receivers like Welker and Donte Stallworth open to do their thing. Also, Ben Watson looks like he is healthy to play again and that could prove beneficial for the Pats.

This will be a preview of the AFC Championship game again this year. The winner could just have home field advantage throughout the playoffs, I look to see the Pats take this game by a 41-27 margin.

The Pats have really improved their offense to compete like the Colts but their Defense is also a lot stronger and that will be the difference this week.

Woo Hoo...game on! I can't believe all those babies crying about the score. I don't know of any team anywhere that would stop playing when they have a lead...gimme a break!

Your assessment agrees with mine. I did switch out my defense (NE to Detroit) because I do believe the Dolts can put up some points against them but Tom Brady and the offense will prevail :)

I hope I am not wrong because I left Mr Brady in this week because the other Manning is on bye.

Jay, your knowledge of the NFL is impressive. I also will root for the Pats to crush the World Champion Colts by a good margine. I don't think they have improved as much as the Pats over this last year. It is a good time to be a fan of any sport in the New England area.

Jess wouldn't want to upset your wife but if she is from Indy then she has witnesssed a good football team for quite awhile. Buckeyes look great I was at the Penn State game and the looked real good.

Linda Go Pats!! back at ya.

Renee, I am glad the Pats aren't wearing red anymore because Nebraska and the Chief's are not playing well at all. What was with Kansas scoring 76 points? Yikes... Never saw such an onslaught.

Judy, I am getting pumped as it's less than hour away.

Well a true optimist like myself would say at least we put more offensive yards against their defense than any other team this year even though they posted 76 points :red face:

KC is tied with the Packs right now. Let's hope for a turn around. LJ has taken off his diapers!

Coming back before the big game. I cannot say how pleased I am that I made the decision to play Detroit's D over New England's...LOL! This is the first time I switched out NE's D this year! I only picked up Detroit for NE's bye week!

Yeah!!!! patriots win and we all know a win is a win. The officiating needs to look back at the tapes and realize they did a terrible job.

Jay 24-20 but I bet the Patriots get the butt kicked in practice this week after all those missed tackles in the first half. The officials made horrible calls on two of those offensive interference calls.

Hey all, it was great. Our defense stepped up to the plate and they finally came through. They'll have a few days off then next week is a bye and then off to Buffalo. Do we smell 16-0. Can you say Superbowl !!!!

Definitely Super Bowl...all the way. What a game. Reminiscent of the way it used to be. What a great team they are. I wonder if they will get the recognition they deserve now???

16-0 is almost a given..they play no one else the rest of the year who can beat them. And, yes...Super Bowl!

Karen, I stayed in my chair here at home and had my Bruschi shirt on and Moni had her Brady shirt on too. Superstitions are weird aren't hey? LOL

Linda, I think Pittsburgh will be tough too but at least that game will be at home.

I love that shot of Manning...I don't think he even congratulated Brady. Poor sportsmanship in my opinion.

Linda, I'm not sure if they spoke or not but I would be surprised like you if they didn't. I did notice Belichick and Dungy exchanged glances and that was it.

Good game -- down to the wire. It'll be interesting if they meet each other again. Moss, a difference maker!

My son had a play off basketball game so I didn't watch it --listened to it on radio on way home.

Yippee - another win!!! 16-0 would be awesome, they just need to stay focused on each game and take nothing for granted at all.

The coaches did say a few words to each other, I saw that in a replay of a different angle when they approached each other. The first angle I saw made it look like all they did was look at each other, but it was more than that.

Talk on sports radio here is that Indy piped in crowd noise during the offensive plays of the Patriots. They say the league is looking into this and they are checking with CBS to see if it has anything to do with their microphones.

The radio talk show was playing the audio that you can clearly hear reverberations in the background. This should be interesting to keep an eye on. I wonder how it will play out in the mainstream media.

It is hard to say if the Pats & Colts will play in the AFC Champ. Playoff game. It is football and anything can happen. If Brady or Manning go down then who knows. I personally can't stand the Steelers, but they have a good team too.

what a great time to be a Boston fan!!! The Red Sox win the WS, we actually have a decent Celtics team and the Pats beat the Colts (on the road!!) God you have to love it. I actually took a NFL line with all three teams winnings their championships this year, I think it's in the bag easy!
I hope this game shuts up all the haters that were crying over Bill and the team running up the score...
GO PATS!

Ryan, Steelers are a good team and we'll see them in a few weeks. We will be at home for that game and I can see the Pats winning that one too. If they can't beat them then I worry about the Giants on the last week.

Pete, it sure is great to be from Beantown. The Naysayers will always be around anytime you have a winner. They hate Bill because he so successful. They also don't like him because of the way he handles himself in interviews. He is not the flashy interviewer like Bill Parcells.

Jay - We haven't had a game like this in a while. It did not seem to be the same team as previous weeks. Very poor tackiling on defense and what was up with the play calling on offense - All of a sudden we were conservative. It is a good thing we woke up before it was too late. The refs....did some of them bet on the game or were they all Indiana residents. How many times are they going to try to give them the game?

I will look forward to the rematch...hopefully with one of the better referee crews - that was god aweful!

The play calling for this game was to keep the ball away from the other teams strength..which is offense.Nothing wrong with that.

Bill, The Pats have been playing awesome up until this game. The Colts at home are a much better team than on the road. Their defense is so quick.

I have to agree with BLR Guy that each team was playing keep away not wanting the others offense on the field.

The rematch, if it happens would be another classic. I have recorded it and now I am dubbing it to a DVD. Got to love DVR's.

The officiating certainly was questionable and I am wondering if in a couple years the news will break that one or more of them were caught betting on games they officiated. Not that it would change the outcome but we all know that Vegas wanted the point spread to be small. I love the Pats but this reality puts a real damper on pro football.

Judy, I heard today that the main Ref was a rookie and I wonder if he was a little overwhelmed and just plain screwed up. I thought this crew was awful and I'll bet you they won't be seen again officiating a Pats vs. Colts game in the near future.
